I remember watching him thinking he was decent but wondered why nobody was talking about him and then he started getting a bit of spotlight.

Hes not as good as Isak but hes a good player in his own right and he will get the 20% uplift that Howe gives players.

He's going to be expensive though just because of the timing of it all. I'd agree it's way more than I think he's worth but that's where we are and what we're up against  - I'm trying to think of it as paying £40m for the player and an extra £10-15m for passing the inconvenience parcel on to Wolves. It's now a Wolves problem and not a Newcastle one. If/when they go looking to replace him they'll be charged more for their replacement too, they've now got a bit more to play with

I’m all for signing him, I think he’ll be great. If it’s him and Wissa and we sell Isak the statement from the other night seems pretty empty imo.

Lesson to everyone on the board (do we have one?)

Buy players first week of the transfer window before everyone starts comparing prices to the previous sales.

Can’t believe they didn’t think of this like, should send your CV in via LinkedIn.

Same, thought his cameos were good before he established himself as first choice. Not sure if he’s technical enough to link with our class lads but I’ll need some more Wise scouting to learn more.

All of his efforts at goal last season.

He looks right footed but is also comfortable shooting with his left.

Managed to hit the woodwork three times against us

A reminder that the 10m extra that we have to pay for any player at this stage is less costly financially than not getting a striker in and missing out on Europe (of any description).

That’s true. I also think it points to allowing Isak to go which I also hate. We are sinking a shit load of money potentially on to two strikers when next summer comes around we’ll have no money for a real top quality forward

All kidding aside, I am not going to even talk about the price because it is irrelevant to me.

He seems a right fucking unit and with the right training under Howe and the massive quality we have around him, I'd easily see him getting close to 20 goals next season. 14 goals in the PL is no slouching feat. As I said before, in the last 10 days it's less than a handful each season who hit 20 in the league. Last season was the most # of players who hit 20+ in 6 years. Usually is 2-3 players only.

How does it point to him going?
