They have a couple of chinese players on their books. Li Tie (ex Everton) and another one, I don't remember his name (He never plays) but I think he's a veteran forward. I think they bought a shitty chinese club (Which must be this Chengdu) too. They're just looking for free money from chinese mugs. Don't know why, we've never seemed to do that well out of it - We've got the best chinese player by a million miles and we're still buying shite like Paul Dickov.

there was sommat on the radio a few years back - some local Sheffield businessmen went to Chengdu and set of a set of exchanges of kids, students, sports teams as a consequence of their knowing the locals

 

guess it all came from that

Sheffield United own the Chengdu football club.

 

Good idea actually. Any chance Newcastle could do the same? This will help us immensely in widening our scouting network, and would help us financially as well.

Just got this email from the University:
