Anthony Stokes - why not?

£1m + add-ons is his going rate. 16 goals in 18 games is a great feat for an 18 year-old in any proffessional division. We already have Martins, Owen, Dyer, Sibierski and even Ameobi who are all capable of putting in decent performances up front, and although we still need a bit more depth, we shouldn't really be breaking the bank on yet another striker in my opinion.

Surely the opportunity of learning from Owen would be much better than getting relegated with Charlton?

Only Owen and Martins are good enough quality as strikers.

Dyer isn't a striker, he's a makeshift striker.

Ameobi should be on the beach.

Sibierski is decent but we need better.

Imo we do need to spend decent money on one quality striker and will still need another striker after that.

On his way to the Mackems, the 18 goals came in the SPL which is a far inferior league, Arsene obviously sees nothing in him and the only teams interested were Charlton, Mackems and Celtic, all of which are massively inferior clubs.

Roy Keane seems to be using his contacts at Manchester United, Scotland and Ireland to build up a collection of young British and irish players with good long-term potential. One to watch in my opinion.

Most of them loans or players over 30's. Stop-gaps, nothing more nothing less.
