jwillie
Just got my letter through from the filth about being caught speeding. How many points do I get and whats the fine. I've only been driving 2 weeks.
SEMTEX
Well what did the letter say? its not guaranteed you'll get anything I dont think... otherwise I think 3 points At present the minimum fine for speeding or running a red light is £60 and three penalty points will be added to your licence. but you could challenge it etc... Plus, if you were going at stupid speeds you can say bye bye mr license
Tom_NUFC
3 points and a £60 fine is about the norm isn't it? That's what my Mam got last year, and she's been driving 20 odd years now and that's the first time she's been done for speeding.
Guest Redcar Mag
3 points and £60 is the norm I think. You better be careful, aren't you only allowed 6 points in your first two years?
GM
Dear oh dear oh dear...the first thing you do when this happens is make sure you don't just rush the letter reply back to the police. Tooj
Isn't the penalty more severe in your first year?
SEMTEX
dont think so, thats for drink driving. In that if you're caught, you're banned afaik.
wor jackie
6 points in first 2 years and you're snookered i think.
Kitman
I believe the traditional response of the first time offender is to vandalise the speed camera in question. Preferably resulting in its total destruction. Not that I would condone that sort of behaviour, obviously.
wor jackie
Did you know that the speed camera was invented in an attempt to increase the speed of racing around corners? Or it was something to do with that! QI rulez
