Yorkie
NOTE: When i write 'x', it does not stand for a multiplication sign. It stands for an algebraic curly x. Brace yourself. When x is 3... Is 2x squared: A) 18, or B) 36 ............................. ? >

Guest makemeacupoftea
wow 2 years since i did maths, algebra was the only thing which i enjoyed
Decky
Its 36 because the sum is whatever 2 times x is, squared, not x squared times 2, basically 2x is worked out then what ever is left is squared, its like this: 2x squared = 36 2 x X squared = 18 the above is confusing because of the x's but its basically 2 x 3 squared = 18 Thats my opinion anyway
Dave
Aye, i'd take that you do the sum first then square it.
Guest smoggeordie
2x^2 = 18 (2x)^2=
midds
Square the x, then double it. 18.
