Woodgate has everything I'm looking for in a defender, but Phillipe Mexes of Roma is one of the most relaxed players on the ball I've seen and he certainly isn't going to smash the ball upfield and praying for Martins to win a header. Intelligent and pretty good in the air to. Of course we'd never get him in a million years, but that kind of defender is what we need.

He might resign at the end of the season if results are'nt good enough, because the only thing that can save him now is antoher spring-revival, but it really doesn't look likely.

Alves looks a very good player but I dont think any club in England could sign him because of work permit issues as he's not an international and does not have a EU passport. I suspect he will go to Ajax or PSV when either team sells their star strikers like Farfan or Huntelaar in the summer Alves played in Sweden before he went to Heerenveen. He's good but I don'nt think he'll ever be good enough for the Premiership. Too slow on the occations that I saw him live over here.

Roeder doesn't want players on the wrong side of 30. That should rule Dailly out. If you could only have faith in Roeder.

Very strange situation. Here in Sweden people are having a hard time to see what Weaver has done to prove himself better than Isaksson. Isaksson came on against Man Utd and was absolutley terrific, but then lost his place to Weaver again. He'll probably leave if he isn't first choice-keeper at the end of the season. Rumours are suggesting that Arsenal might want to replace Lehmann with him.

I think he's our most improved performer of the season, the end product is getting better and better. Excellent decision to show some faith in him and reward him.
