Bit of a humorous twinkle in his eyes too, think he’ll be a good laugh fit in well with the team. Hope he’s really happy here; finds some interests/ways to escape the goldfish bowl of being a United player.

Swedish bloke on Total Sport said he was a fun guy in the dressing room. Raved about him.

Any thoughts on the decor inside the ground from anyone there yesterday lads? The new stuff, any good?

Obviously a smaller scale, but would be good if we could also let season ticket holders sell tickets on an individual basis.

Didn't the club used to do that? Before Ashley that is.

They don't have large savings. To them £500 is a lot. £500 is a lot to me and I'm a higher rate taxpayer.

You personally are on £50k plus a year and £500 is a lot to you?

Has anyone who's walked past the stadium in the last week or so noticed if they've got people to give the stadium a proper clean? Would be nice to see the stench from the last 15 years completely gone.

Loads of vans , skips etc so seem to be doing something.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the matchday income (plus conference/banqueting) dropped £6.6m between 2020 and 2021 but the losses went up by £12.1m. Same comparing 2019 to 2020, matchday income dropped by £4.9m but the drop in profit was £9.5m.

This is not just a case of COVID affecting matchday income and that explaining the figures.

Big drop in TV money would be part of that.

Nee luck involved in that. You could say any strike has an element of luck.  He went for it, generated the power and the direction. No luck.

Also did anyone hear Ando’s commentary.  “It’s a simple goal”. I thought I was a negative guy but fucking hell

To be fair he said he didn't have a great view and thought he side footed it. When he saw the replay he was raving about it.

How much is a ticket for a game at St James' Park?

My friend who's a Liverpool fan looked at tickets at Anfield and said they were £500? :kasper:

Depending where between £36 and £61

Here’s a SJP question that doesn’t relate to or involve relocation or expanding:

If you were going to your first match all over again, and might only get to one for the foreseeable future, where would you sit for the one time awe-striking moment? Stand/row/etc.

    Asking for a friend. ;)

Gallowgate would be the obvious answer if you want to be in the middle of the flag display and the best singing area but good luck getting a ticket. Really anywhere is good at the minute with the atmosphere.

How about the Newcastle college Scotchy Road site and move the College up to one of the to let places on the old S&N site ?

    Just thinking aloud

Interesting idea. While since I've been in the college but definitely needed updating.

  11. Brighton fans missing him.

"He was not a 3rd or 4th choice as the way he was playing he was our number 1 choice. If the club need £13million then so be it but at the moment we are looking poor at the back...note when you play 3 at the back you need 4 or 5 very good CBs not 2 or 3..."

I'm pretty sure Castle Leazes isn't large enough to build a 70,000 seat stadium on - especially when you consider parking, etc. It'd surely have to involve buying up the buildings between Castle Leazes and Barrack Road. Horribly complicated. However, it's under-utilised common moor land and a 'land swap' with St.James's could be a major improvement for both club and city.

There is hardly any parking at the ground now so can't see that as a problem.
