Oh good lord.
-
can these inept clowns sign someone already ffs...hell even more rumours would make me feel better instead of this dead air
-
Unbearable. Are they gonna be blowing these damn things throughout the entire tournament?
-
Exactly. What is everyone expecting? We arnt a powerhouse club striving for top 4 and champions league anymore. We are going to be in a relegation battle and with this no capital outlay crap, we are in no position to sign top class players. I dont expect us to get any strikers far better than Lovenkrands, IF we do get another striker in im expecting him to be on par with Lovenkrands or slightly better.

Hmm stupid selection. Did he even show anything for Hull this season to suggest he should be picked? We played quite a high line which wasnt able to deal with the pace of their strikers and wingers. Caught on more than a few occasions.

18 year old Australian winger who is apparently meant to be the next Harry Kewell. He had a good couple of seasons in the Australian A-League for Brisbane Roar and then obviously moved to Utrecht as stated above. He also missed the cut for the final 23 man squad for the WC. An excellent talent and I feel Verbeek made a big mistake not including him, from what I saw last night. I mentioned to someone on this forum a couple of months ago that Oar will be highly sought after and they said they would contact the club. Apparently, Utrecht beat a whole host of european clubs to his signature. One to watch for the future. Yeah ive gotta agree here. SURELY a better option than Richard Garcia as a back up winger who looks like absolute crap at the moment. They do play on opposite flanks though so there goes my opinion...

Probably to make it look like the club is doing something so we dont get pissed off

Dont know how USA didnt get a third there. Class through ball into the box though

Jesus has missed a couple of decent chances for the aussies

Richard Garcia looks all out of sorts for Australia. Just keeping Emertons spot warm i guess

Damn. they may actually pull themselves out of the shit storm theyve been whirling around in. Shame.
-
At this rate our bloody players will be running out with fucking potato sacks on

Is there a limit to the amount of people that can join a league?

I think you would have to be a few screwdivers short of a toolbox not to. However, i couldnt see this happening in a million years so why even discuss it.

His stock keeps rising, shame we (the club) were so short sighted (including many of the fans) he would never had made it so well with us, aside from the instability due to constant board and managerial changes lets face it we've not exactly got a track record of coaching the best out of players have we? i remember brummie saying he thought villas coaches would get a lot out of milner when they signed him and he's right, that shits not just happening by accident and our players mostly regress for that exact reason imo yeah spot on. Take Duff for example, i know he is significantly older than Milner but i still think this applies. I know his poor spell at Newcastle may well have been partly due to him not being fully committed to the cause, but a large part of it has to go down how he was coached here and how he was told to play. If you look at his impressive season at Fulham, you cant put it all down to him suddenly becoming inspired and motivated again, it has a lot to do with the way he has been coached at Fulham and the structures he has been put in that suit him quite well. In Milners case, from what i understand we insisted on using him as a winger, and now Villa have stuck him in the middle and he is flourishing. I believe this is a big reason as to why high quality players fail to sustain their form when moving on to another club.

yeah now watch him score against us....oh wait

Plus significant reduction in the wage bill, plus you'd expect there to be a reduction in the (alleged) continued payments to other clubs of transfer fees for players no longer at the club, plus the future income we should be getting from sponsorship deals that in recent years had (allegedly) been spent up front by the club, plus the staggered payments for players we've recently sold (Milner, Bassong, Martins, Duff, Given, Zog). Does anyone know approximately how much Butt was on out of interest?

Ive learnt the hard way that you shouldnt bet on games at the tail end of a season. The teams that have nothing to play for dont give a shit and lose, simple as.
