Struggle to think of a manager that’s had an easier ride in the media in recent years
I can't remember. Did Pardew get similar support ?
Yeah, Pardew broke records for consecutive defeats and hammerings, but the media kept telling us he was a good manager. These pundits will never turn on Bruce no matter how bad it gets.
Compared to Bruce, Pardew was a good manager
Pardew - 185 games, 38.41% win ratio
Bruce - 62 games, 33.9%
Neither compare to
Rafa - 146 games, 42.5% win ratio
The pundits can fuck right off. We've got a decent and expensive team and Bruce is misusing them

Thought they were decent first half particularly Almiron. As soon as Arsenal stepped it up they were on top and deserved the win. Midfield 2 bar Hayden worth both poor which was then compounded after the subs. Never looked like scoring once we fell behind. Nowt out wide for the majority of the game too which made us a lot easier to defend against, lost count how easy it was for them to get down the sides even if they made little of it.
Got beat 0-2 last season to them so it’s a big moral win for Bruce, Charners and the Donnay Army.
Was it not 1-2? I seem to remember us getting a last gasp goal.

All in all not too bad a performance
it was a shambolic free-for-all with a midfield more lopsided than the manager's nose by the end. "Not too bad" though.
Once Shelvey went off we lost a bit of shape yeah. I still don't think we played that badly apart from the final touch though.
-
No chance there was 47k there today cos' Sky kept showing banks of empty seats whilst smugly commentating about how the boycott was a failure.
All in all not too bad a performance but we look worryingly toothless against a poor Arsenal starting 11 and I still don't see what Joelinton brings that makes him worth 2.5 Rondons.
-
Doesn't seem like a bad bloke, but he was utterly useless. Turning water into wine getting a fee him.
Not convinced we actually got one.
Aside from that, I can't remember him hitting even a single decent shot.
I seem to remember him turning and smashing the ball against the inside of a post one game (not scoring though). I can't remember who it was against, but it was a cracking shot.
Edit: Away at Burnley 26th November

What a f***ing embarrassment of a club we are. Quibbling over a s*** championship manager to replace rafa.
It's hilarious
I keep thinking we've hit rock bottom and then we go lower. So glad I've jacked my ticket in for next season.

What a fucking embarrassment of a club we are. Quibbling over a shit championship manager to replace rafa.

Your totally correct but the Chronicle is no longer a local paper, its a national organisation that has outposts in different regions, the big bosses will not want to fall out with Ashley.
Well, I hope everyone stops buying it or clicking on their website, and that they close down due to lack of revenue then.
I have to use an adblocker on that website. It's one of the worst I've ever seen for intrusive ads.

I thought it'd be tough to not renew, but the deadline came and went and I really didn't give a fuck. Guess this club has finally broken me.
-
Have one and won't be renewing unless a miracle happens and Mike is gone by next week.
Fuck them. I'm sick of forking out hard earned money to watch a club whose ONLY ambition is not get relegated as cheaply as possible.
-
What would the feeling be on here if he signs a 1 year deal? We will just be in the same situation next summer and a 1 year deal would suggest he is only happy to commit short term in the hope fat lad leaves but thats never going to happen.
I would be glad of another year of this beautiful man but it would just be another season keeping Ashley on the gravy train with the heat off him
It'll be the same old shit of trying to survive and putting 11 men behind the ball against the better teams because we don't have the players to compete. It's soul destroying and the reason I'm not leaving unless Rafa stays and Ashley goes. I've had enough.
-
I've pretty much lost interest in football full stop. I reckon there's a fair bit I can with the £940 renewal this year plus drinks and that!
-
There's not going to be 52000 this year.
That's what I thought but everyone that sits around me has already renewed
I've not and nor have the people I go with. We are waiting to see what happens.
-
I guarantee the next big story will be by the end of the month saying Newcastle takeover has collapsed due to key Kenyon investor pulling out because of relegation fears.
It's almost like youv'e seen it all before!
But the media said it was different this time.
This time next year we are *definitely* getting sold

How much are season tickets, cheapest to dearest?
How do they compare with other clubs in the PL?
Can't comment on other areas, but 1892 is nearly £900!

Cycling related stuff for me.

well this was shite
our fans booing Mitro, ffs
Did they? I thought he got very little reaction, positive or negative. In fact I though half the stadium was asleep at points.
-
I like Dubravka but he needs to cut out the crap like nearly giving a goal away today!
-
I love Bentitez, but at this moment in time I'm not convinced he isn't just playing for the sack.
-
For all the possession, shots etc we had we never really troubled their keeper. The last ten minutes summed up the state the club is in, with absolutely no idea how to move the ball past the halfway line. Muto instead of Perez off was a shocking decisions as well.
Only positive I can think of is that Diame played well apart from a few trademark fuck ups.

Server difficulties according to the Twitter account.
Denial of service attack from St James' I reckon....

2/11 on odds checker at the moment...

Im not suggesting they're being vocal about it. Just what im seeing around, not everyones at the same stage but most arent Pardew fans anymore. Frustrations a matter of time.
I'm only going because I've paid until the end of the season and there is a lot of people in the same boat round me. Whilst I don't support the regime I'm going to get my moneys worth - even if it just involves booing the useless fuckers off at the end.
Next season I'll go to the odd game. Maybes.

Jon Dahl Tomasson in pre-season looked amazing. Not sure what happened after that!
