  1. Kjaer has great potential but he still to errorprone IMO. But very strong 1v1 and played probably his best international vs Czech Republic. Has had a tough time under Magath ind Wolfsburg (Who wouldn't) but has been on the up the last couple of months.

Eriksen needs a move away from Eresdivisie in the summer. He is very aware of his own development, and wouldn't make the big move(Manchester, Chelsea and so on) unless he felt ready for it. And he isn't ready. Clubs like Spurs, Liverpool and Newcastle could be destinations as he needs minutes on the pitch. That being said, I'm not sure we would be able to match the €15-20m fee that Ajax would be demanding - and I don't think it's a position we would look to strenghen.

  2. What a people's opinions on Jores Okoro? Seen him linked a few times.

Good player - would take him in a heartbeat.

We really need someone who has pace and athleticism at centre back.

What's he like as far as those attributes are concerned?

He is quite average in those attributes, that you mention, but he makes up for it by having a good football-brain, so he reads the game really good. Furthermore he is really aggressive in his way of playing and he follows trough in every tackles that he makes. In Denmark he is viewed as one of the biggest defender talents since Daniel Agger.

The downside is that he is a Chelsea supporter  :huff:

I disagree. One of his biggest assets is his pace. He is young so he still makes mistakes, but has been able to recover with good speed for a CB. He is very strong, and is great 1v1. He still has tons to learn but is capable of learning fast and you don't often see him do the same mistake twice.

I'd say get him. He has loads of upside, and haven't been playing top level for a very long time - but still has been playing at a very high level. He's young, and as a dane it would give a lot of media attention towards Newcastle back here :-)

  3. According to danish media sporten.dk Lille is after FC Copenhagen left back Bryan Oviedo. Same story tells that Lille wants current left back Franck Béria as their right back. Therefore Debuchy = Newcastle.

  4. Wow must be depressing for Ajax if they start losing their star youth players before they get the 1 or 2 years in the senior team before they usually go

I know how it usually goes in their system - but in 1-2 years time he will maybe be out of our reach.

  5. Would love to see us go for a player like danish teenage ace Viktor Fischer from Ajax. I have no idea how much he would cost, but at 18 and still a youth player it would not be that much. That being said he is about to get into the first team squad and has done well in preseason. He can play equally well at left and right wing, behind the striker or up front and is lethal as hell. Bound to be a star in the years coming and is a talent in the mold of Christian Eriksen - but with the goals that Eriksen is lacking.

  6. Joel Pohjanpalo striker from HJK Helsinki could be an interesting player. He fits the profile being young talented, cheap and all that. In his debut for the club he scored a perfect hattrick(head, left and right foot) within 3 minutes. He is only 17 and already have some nice stats.

Edit: Oh....and he has apparently turned down Liverpool earlier this season :snod:

  7. I think the club is being asked a serious question about ambition again this summer. The question is how are we approaching this summer? How keen are we to keep our best players? At what cost do we let them go? Are we finally prepared to go after "big" players or are we going to look for the right bargains again?

There's nothing wrong with smart cheap signings, especially if they are as good as the ones we have signed recently but I do feel that there is a ceiling to it. At some point we have to bite the bullet and try and snare a big name from under the noses of clubs like Spurs.

Don't get me wrong, I think we have been fantastic in the transfer market but was Cisse a one off? More of the same would see us really scare a few teams next year. I think there will be ups and downs this summer, at least one good player out and at least one good player in.

Cisse a one off? Have you even looked at our business lately :-) Cabaye, Tiote, Ben Arfa, Ba just to name a few.

    It's not a one off - it's a tendency.

  8.

    I'd be happy with that.

oh yes...not that strong...but still young....he will become very good....very sad he is injured for the euros :'(

The danish media is going nuts about this rumour. Would be very delighted if we got the chance to sign this talented left wing back. Only thing is that he has been injured for the last couple of months with setbacks from the same thigh injury. But this might be the reason that Newcastle could get him and not Manchester United or some other club in that range.

That being said I think he could do good in Ajax for another couple of years with a maximum of playing time.

would love him here....but he is not ready for this league....a couple of years more in ajax would be best for him!

I don't disagree. But after a few more years in Ajax, he's not within our range anymore. Then he's bound for the biggest clubs around. So this might be our chance to snap him up. And I think he could be ready sooner rather than later for this league.
