  1. Jesus, Pardew has his weaknesses, but the fact is that MA has sold every quality player without replacing them.  Pardew has been operating under strict financial rules.  As long as Ma refuse to invest,  no manager could do better.

Some of you is so paranoid that it's funny.

Anyone want to tackle this one with the same answer for the millionth time?

In short, he's not under strict financial rules, nor are his hands tied...in his own words he's not.

Yeah right. Ba and Cabaye were shit. Replacing them was easy.

Everything shit that happens is Pardew''s fault.  Grow up!

Hahaha, what are you even on about!?

Ba and Cabaye who Pardew pimped out in nigh on every interview he could shoehorn it into? Right oh. You forget that Ba was a replacement for Carroll and Cabaye was a replacement for Nolan, both were sold without Pardew wanting them to be and both players were improvements. Our buying policy might be fucked, but we generally get decent players along the line and they're generally not played by Pardew in favour of shit cloggers like Williamson, Gouffran and Colback.

And your point is? Yes, we replaced Carroll and Nolan with Ba and Cabaye. The latter is  better than the former. But when Ba and Cabaye were sold,  we didn't replace them.

  4. NEWCASTLE’S HATEM BEN ARFA AND MANCHESTER CITY’S SAMIR NASRI IN FRANCE BUST-UP

Hatem Ben Arfa and Samir Nasri were among the players involved in an alleged bust-up in France’s dressing room following their defeat to Sweden.

Newcastle star Ben Arfa reportedly told France boss Laurent Blanc to send him home after he was substituted in the Sweden game. He angered Blanc when the team returned to the dressing room to find him chatting on the phone to his family.

The 25-year-old told Blanc he should not have been subbed because there were players “who were worse” than him. That prompted Samir Nasri to get involved in the row.

The Manchester City midfielder then fell out with Alou Diarra over the Marseille man’s comment that many players’ performances were so poor that they were “not normal”.

Chelsea’s Florent Malouda told the French media that the scene reminded him of the squad’s 2010 World Cup meltdown.

He said: “What I saw awakened some demons in me.”

Nasri is wildly overrated. He's an evil cunt as well.

No wonder HBA is annyoed.  Nasri is an inferior, ugly cunt compared to HBA. Still he gets more play time!!!!

  5. I'd be surprised if Lille got £8m.

True. He's 27 soon, so this will be his final long-term contract. Because of his age, he'll have no resale value, unless he plays exceptionally well. Had Deubuchy been in Santon's age bracket, £8 mill and upwards would've been more realistic.

  6. Hatem should stay at Newcastle till the end of his career. NUFC is the perfect club for him, his personality.

If we manage to get CL he could..He loves being the biggest fish in the bowl.

  7. Colo makes up for his lack of pace by good positioning and timing his interventions well, but he will get caught out now and then. I think it was tmonkey who produced a good analysis a few months ago, the gist of which was that Colo was good when the ball was in front of him, but weak when the ball went behind. If he gets beaten, he can't recover.

tmonkey's analysis was bloody awful overall, but that particular observation was pretty dead-on.

not quite, as Colo is okay when we keep a high line and there's enough space in behind for him to catch up. he's usually got the ability, nous, strength and top speed to shepherd the attacker towards the flanks and enable us to wait for reinforcements. he's also damned good running back to cover for other people's mistakes and putting in last ditch tackles so it's wrong to say he has no ability to recover.

it's more that he's not agile enough to change directions quickly or accelerate powerfully over shorter distances and that causes probs.

Apologies for being a pedant, but the one thing I felt colo truly struggled against last season was pace. Re-watch the WBA home game for example, Long and Odemwingie tore colo a new one. We 100% need a quick centre half

Agree. While S. Taylor didn't play I can't see him being able to fend off quick attackers like Long if the ball is hoofed behind our defence.

  8. A great defender doesnt need alot of pace. Im not saying that we sign a slow as fuck defender. If a defender can read the game and have good positioning, theres no need for outstanding pace.

Disagree. In certain situations pace is very important. Like when the opponent suddenly hoofs the ball behind our defense, or when we're being counter attacked. But in established defense I agree that it's more about positioning than pace. But in my opinion it's important to put together a complementary team. We already have Colo with outstanding positioning and technique, but he struggles against the quickest and strongest attackers. Same goes for Willy. And Tayls will probably struggle against speedy attackers. We need a defender who could balance out their weakness. Douglas or Mbiwa and Deubuchy will give our team another dimention imo...

  9. They're too slow. We've really struggled against quick, physical attackers who run on  hoof balls struck behind our defense.  Andy  Johnson completely changed the game when he came on in the second half. Blackburn at St. James' under CH is another example.

  10. Think Alderweireld would be perfect for us.

Don't know him, he is RB primarily? Preferred over Debuchy?

Centre-back, Belgian, Right Footed, Indredibly comfortable in posession, 23 years old, Also pretty strong in the tackle and a good header of the ball.

But is he fast? Colo, Willy and S.Taylor are too slow..

  11. Final fee will be 5.5, that's my guess.

And MA probably manages to get £4 mill for Simpson too. It shouldn't be possibly to strengthened a position so insanely with such minimal outlay..

  12. Really don't want us to play 4-4-2, our best players are more suited for 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

Cabaye shines way more in 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 atleast...

He is like a different player when beeing used the right way.

He's good in both positions when he's paired with Tiote. When he played with Guthrie, he had to take more defensive responsibilities since Guthrie isn't that good at closing down.  Hence Cabaye became less visible ..

  13. Why is it we have to try and jeopardise the position we're in by sending in a shitty offer like that?!  Just cough up the extra 2 bloody million for christ's sake.

A club will probably always reject the first offer, unless it's an insane one. If our first offer was 6 mill,  it's likely that Lille would have declined that one too.

  14. Never seen this lad play. But from what I read you'll be pretty ecstatic if we get him?

Like his versatility. Probably one of the main reasons why we're interested. I'm a positive guy, but I sadly believe that Ba's off if we buy De Jong. Cannot see De Jong wanting to sign for us unless he's a starter....

  15. would be more concerned about bigger and richer clubs coming in than us being able to agree a fee tbh.

It might be that we're not able to agree a fee precisely because richer clubs also come in. :)

Apart from Dalglish who is stupid enough to pay more than what a club wants? the richer clubs coming means they can offer higher wages and that's where their advantage lies if Lille wanted a certain amount i don't see anyone being stupid enough to pay more it would make no sense.

It's the wages which is the issue, not the fee.

Of coure, but if the player is attractive there will alway be a club who's willing to pay more. Competition and desperation most often than not drive the price up. And usually you're not able to negotiate salary without having a transfer fee agreed.

  16. would be more concerned about bigger and richer clubs coming in than us being able to agree a fee tbh.

  17. It's surreal that Dreamboat actually plays for us. Just 12 months ago we had to cope with Fatty Nolan   Seriously, he must be on of the best CM in PL. He got an excellent allround play: Not only is he a creative force, but he's also fantastic in his defensive responsibilities. Wonder what's his value now, and remember LFC paid £20 mill for Downing, and £18 mill for fucking Henderson  ;D

  18. I don't think losing Tiote would be as big a blow as most make out.

    Why?

He's a decent defensive midfielder no doubt, but his disciplinary record, his recent injury record and his lesser performances against 'weaker' opposition mean we could probably pick up a decent replacement for a fraction of the fee he'd command.

Yeah...We would probably have won 3-0 against ManU without him. And we would have lost 8-0 against Tham had Tiote played....

  19. No he's not, he's the same as every other footballer. Give him a good offer from a Champions League club like Bayern or Milan and he is just as liable to move as anyone else.

When will we learn our lesson about the difference between what players say and what they do?

Bullocks. He'll never leave for a team where he's behind Riebery and Robben in the pecking order, even if Bayern offers him a bigger salary and CL-football.

  20. Carroll and Enrique have proven to me I can get over player sales.

For me it's big difference between Carroll and Enrique vs Colo and HBA. Colo and HBA at their best have a max level that Carroll and Enrique have no chance in hell matching. HBA is the most gifted player I've ever seen in a black and white jersey and he could be as good as he wants if he gets his head straight. During my lifetime I would probably see a lot Enriquesque players coming and leaving who got some decent attributes, but also have obvious faults in their play. But I'll probably never again see a player who's capable of pulling off HBA's raid against Bolton or Blackburn. That's why HBA never can be sold, I don't care if we're offered £80 mill for him. He gets my heart ticking every time he has the ball. Love him so much!!

  21. I just wouldn't sell him, same with Colo. Some players are irreplaceable, not only in terms of playing quality but what they mean to the supporters. Seeing him in a Chelsea shirt would break me.

 Tiote, HBA or Colo in a Chelsea/ManU shirt would have been heartbreaking regardless of how much money they paid us.
