For all his faults I doubt Ashley would just roll over, tbh. He wouldn’t reinvest that money back in to the club, but he wouldn’t have rolled over.

Based on the takeover we know that whatever he wanted he would fight tooth and nail for it. Unfortunately during his ownership the best interests of the club was barely ever something the thought was worth fighting for

Disagree with this, the club should be trying to make as much use of the stadium as possible to increase revenue. Won't be NFL because they won't go outside of London but it can be other sports (magic weekend, Falcons and international rugby, international football etc)

Football club first, aye. Community asset that will increase the exposure of the club too though.

I’m sure big events are great for the city in general too. Lots of people buying hotel rooms, food, drinks etc

Eh? I’m not talking about those games. I’ve already criticised things a number of times in some previous fixtures. The way we get played through is a disaster. In terms of today, they’ve obviously been better but it could easily be 1-0 to us right now given the respective chances

Fair enough but surely you can see that peoples criticism of the team comes from more than just this game.

Love him, but he needs to 'reflect'

You know he will though. This isn’t someone like Bruce who doesn’t believe in tactics and will take Monday off because we didn’t lose. No matter what you think of Howe nobody can accuse him of not putting in the work. There’s no doubt in my mind that every decision is meticulously thought out even if I don’t agree with it

555 x Dortmund fans could go onto Livefootballtickets right now and buy touted seats in home areas for their trip over here

I’d be surprised if there wasn’t a decent amount of Dortmund fans in the home end tbh. How known they make themselves will depend on how the game goes I suppose.

I think that’s it, tbf.  I don’t doubt that Howe is tactically more astute and the ultimate modern manager.  There’s a good chance we end up with a Howe statue outside the ground, assuming he wins some of those shiny pot things.  I love having him at NUFC - he inspires hope via his professionalism and quality.

But KK was the biggest name in English football - and the one man who absolutely believed in what the club and city could be.  And he made sure that we all believed that too.  It went beyond football - a club, city and region that had suffered what seemed to be terminal decline being inspired by the ultimate motivator.  I’ve written it before on here, but this is the club that Kevin built.  That there isn’t a stand named in his honour is a joke, frankly.

Aye, pointless to compare but without Keegan there is no Howe.

It's 3:36am. Can't wait to see this guy in the Champions League for NUFC. [emoji38]

Ridiculous to think we’re going to be in pot 4. We’ve go to be the team absolutely no one wants in their group

He’s incredible, I don’t have any other words to describe him.

The thing that really blows my mind is his accuracy, he very rarely misses the target. He’s another one that took a chance with us and is being rewarded for it.

It’s actually incredible how fast we’ve moved onto signings like him. It feels like Dwight Gayle was a believable starter for us less than 2 years ago. I wonder if Isak even knows what a basket case of a club we were 18 months ago.

  9. Too young to know myself but going off what I’m told I’m not sure anyone will ever compare to what Keegan achieved. Nobody will probably ever understand this club and it’s fans like he did but Howe will hopefully go on to succeed in ways that unfortunately Keegan couldn’t.

  10. Not getting Ekitike or Pedro has turned out to be a massive benefit to us no matter how good those two turn out to be. Isak and Wilson are as good as any two strikers any club in world football has imo. Goes to show the level of scouting that goes into all the players we sign. Even those we’ve been linked with will no doubt go on to have good premier league careers. Pedro and Diaby both off the mark today.

  11. Those surfer flags are really a sight to behold when sitting in level 7. Coming from nothing like they’ve been released from someone’s pocket to covering a few hundred fans and then travelling across a whole stand only to disappear so quickly. Hats off to everyone involved, they do an incredible job and deserve every plaudit they receive. Don’t think there’s another club in the country who do it the way wor flags do.

Not too fussed about Szo. I think he’s the Salah replacement and I don’t think he’s Getting the 25-30 G/A Salah has got year In year out.

Nobody is going to replace a player as good as Salah with somebody who has the same goals/assists though. That’s impossible. I doubt anyone at Liverpool even expected Salah to be as good as he’s been when they signed him. Szo has a good 5 years before he hits his prime and no doubt will come good for them. Don’t really see the point in pretending that he’s going to be no good.

Seems like we’ve missed out on a decent prospect, whether that be because we didn’t think he was worth it or we couldn’t afford it. No doubt we’ll simply move on to our next target because that’s the professional outfit we seem to be but this one will definitely sting if he turns out to be as good as many on here think he will be

As others have said we moved from Diego Carlos to Botman and seemingly from other cm targets to Tonali, so it’s hard not to have faith in the recruitment team that is operating at the minute but ultimately everything boils down to what we can afford through ppv  and club income so everything helps

City could sell Bernardo, Walker, Cancelo and Phillips this summer for decent change you'd imagine.

We will struggle as long as we have nobody we can offload for decent fees as we aren't getting any money coming in like other clubs are.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of our Kuol/Minteh level signings are made with this in mind. Players coming in and leaving for a profit having never started a first team game. Not necessarily those 2 but signings of that level who are only meant to be loaned out then sold on at a profit.

Think Wilson and Joelinton are too high.

    Isak not high enough.

It’s not what you think they’re worth though. It’s what you would accept for them. I don’t think Joelinton is worth 80 million but you’d have to get pretty close to that to get me to sell. We’re going in a fuck off position if we don’t want to sell and think we should take advantage of that as much as we can

Same. I quite like them as a team, they play good football, and their fans aren't obnoxious, but still feel slightly sad that they won the treble because they spent more than anyone else, although to be fair it's not that simple, you just have to look at Chelsea to see that.

On the plus side, at least Liverpool and Man U fans will be distraught. Carragher could hardly hide his dread of them winning in the commentary box.

Anyone who even thinks about being upset about the result just needs to picture how man united fans are feeling and I guarantee it brings a smile to their face

    Fookin hate City, like

Weirdly, they’re the one club in the “top 6” that I don’t hate. Even before our takeover, I just don’t care about them enough to hate them. I’d happily watch football crash and burn before watching the rest of them win anything but city really don’t bother me.
