At a talk in last night with Pavel Srnicek. Another good night, had some banter but due to lack of clear English Joe Allon done most of the talking. No surprise there though, Allon's mental but a proper good laugh at these talk in events.

He looked like he wanted to kick David Craig's head in. Seen this, he wasn't too happy. We're on tomorrow, no idea which player will do it.
  4. Aye, he no longer has a banning order. But after going through it and after sacrificing everything for Newcastle United he decided that the banning order was the final straw and he'd no longer go to football games.
  5. Was that Swifty? Sold badges outside the Labour Club? Swifty was 35 about 50 years ago Billy Swift had a heart attack not too long ago aswell, at this rate there will be no one left to run buses. RIP John The Badge - didn't know him, knew his face and heard the name though.

  7. Guess I'm not the only one who forgot about this. I forgot about it for 5 seconds then realised. It's terrible, just when I thought Real were out aswell.
  8. Don't take me home, please don't take me home, I just don't want to go to work Let me stay here, drink all the beer (not sure on that line) Please, please, please don't take me home. f***ing woeful. Tune is the same as the Cabaye song. It was brilliant after 15 pints on the Wednesday night in the Connemara in Bordeaux. Kept spirits high post game after the woeful showing aswell.
  9. I agree. Me too. We just lack... something. Totally agree. I don't think we're far away now, we created more today than we have for a long time. Fulham away is never easy, to quote Steve Bruce ... "some are getting above their stations". Remember where we were (I await the good old, "we'll be back there soon with Pardew").

    Alan Pardew

Can we let him fail before crucifying him? Some massive over reactions, 4 month ago he was almost worshipped. Be patient.
  11. L'victoire by all accounts. Speaking to my mate at the weekend who used to live theree aswell, he reckons there is a cracking Irish boozer.
  12. not a fan of roeder rumour has it. Yup, caught that much from the other thread. So I take it nothing interesting is being said then. Was a really good night and Harper was actually quite funny. Going there I thought he would be pretty dull but he was quite a decent speaker.

Somebody asked him who was the worst manager he'd played under. He went on to talk about literally every manager and then said Glenn Roeder was the worst. Earlier in the night he had said that Joey Barton used to talk about a "deathbus". Basically, everytime a journalist or another player said anything bad about Joey, he would always say "right that's him on my deathbus". Harper said Roeder was very good when he was caretaker, then when he took over as full time manager he changed everything that he had done good previously. I think there was a bit of bitterness though as Harper recalled a time when he had played with a knackered groin for 7 games in a row which he felt he had done very well in. Then when Given was fit again he dropped Harper straight away, to which Harper turned round and told him he was no longer available for selection. The way he was talking, it was as if he had a real hatred for the bloke. Oh aye, he said that Roeder was the driver of his "deathbus" - alongside Bruce Grobbelaar.

Steve Harper at West Allotment Social Club for a talk in. Really good crack, not very fond of Glenn Roeder though.
  15. Given time, I think Marveaux could be a good player for us. The amount of football he has played in the last couple of years is worrying though, and I think that's reflected in his current performances. But when he has the ball at his feet he looks comfortable and, for me, he has great technical ability. Look forward to him having a run of games.

Yes it's actually discussed at length in this thread on here. I can see you turning into a mong like the rest, as previously suggested. Would be decent if there was a resident, sensible Mackem on here - if one actually does exist.
  20. Not really. He plays centrally a lot and is encouraged to be the hub of their attacks. The theme of the forum the last couple of weeks has been mainly based on where HBA is playing. I do agree though, it's a hinderance having him playing out there. In a similar position to Cazorla he'd have a lot more influence on games. Still, they're both their respective teams main creator and flair players.
  21. Santi Cazorla is a joy to watch. He's a bit like Arsenals version of HBA.
