One bloke says he wasted £8k going to the 8 0 so we have lost a fan

If he's representative of some of the so called fans on here, well good riddance

When Eddie signed, a Bournemouth fan came on here and gave a glowing review of him but I always remember him noting that we'd need to get used to half the squad being injured. Everything he said about Howe was accurate.

If Eddie was known for keeping people fit then DCL might be worth it. Unfortunately, I don't think his cheesecake hamstrings will withstand even one Jason Tindall warm up drill.

How many injuries last season then?

Nope but they have connected Shearer's negative comments on match of the day to this result to create some sort of "told you so" narrative

Here's a hypothetical question - given all the comparisons to the 1994/95 season... Isak leaving would be like Cole leaving, shock, disbelief, heartbreak, tears, anger.

Who would the "Ferdinand" replacement need to be for you to accept it?

    Who would that be then?

Naa, just don't have the energy to put up with little wankstains on the Internet trying to be clever.

Aaah bless! You teenagers are so tiresome! From the south are you?

I can't work out if it's pace he lacks or acceleration. I think it's the latter which is exasperated by some naive positioning.

If he gets his defensive position correct, you'll see less of that. Do think he's fast once he gets going, which is probably why players find him hard to handle at the other end as that positioning doesn't count.

Basically you don't have a clue?

I like how he's not one of these managers who tells his players do it this way or that way. He goes 'do it this way, if you like'.

    You know that how?

You want to be proven wrong but you think he’s one of the best managers in the world?

Some of the quotes on here are embarassing! a lack of having played anything other than 5 a side with their mates being the main cause!

After having 6th in our hands for a while now being out of any sort of Europe next season feels like a bit of a failure to me. Maybe harsh given the assortment of problems we've had across this season but that's how I feel at this current moment in time.

This version of NUFC have to consistently play European football of some form imo, to raise the profile of the club, attract players, keep hold of our best players. Not achieving that given our position as recent as last week feels like a step back. And I don't even think missing out is a positive. Howe, the squad; bloody hell the club as a whole and I'm including the supporters in that need to get used to us playing 3 games a week at a decent level if we want to compete with the elite teams in this league. Congestion of fixtures has been labelled an obstacle of ours this season; successful/elite clubs play the most matches regularly. And the Conference League (as much as I wanted Europa League) is perfect for getting used to and learning how to manage a squad for minutes and fitness. What's to say we miss our on Europe altogether this season, we finish 4th or 3rd next season, that 2025-26 isn't a carbon copy of this? Probably a reach, but how I feel.

There were dumb fuckers on here in the new year saying we would be in a relegation fight!

Yes sort of as an excuse, since I dont think it fully explains a lot of our poor performances.

Only reason we have a chance for 6 is because of the very slow start Chelsea had. If we forget about the league position for a moment and just look at the results, I dont think 17 wins and 14 losses are good enough for our owners if it happens again. Especially when alot of the individual games have had abysmal performances from us, even a couple of the wins.

There are some migitating circumstances, like it being his first season in CL and the Tonali ban being a major blow. So my expectations are that we will improve massively next season, especially if we dont get Europe. But if we dont..

So what is your solution? Imagine you're being interviewed by the board!

/Dont think he is under pressure from the start (more than any other), but I do think he has sort of used up his free hit. Another season like this and I think he is gone. We have pretty ambitious owners.

I know we had a lot of injuries and he can sort of use that as an excuse, but it could also have came from the playstyle and management of the squad. If it happens again next season he cant really get the benefit of the doubt, which I am willing to give him for now.

Sort of use it as an excuse? So we are still in with a chance of sixth despite all the injuries and you say he has used up a free hit? What is your solution to the injuries? We have had a superb season compared to the past 20! Alot of the stats bear this out Howe has earned at least two more years after his first 2 have you forgotten his first year?
