That was the best game i've seen him had for us as a CB.

He has been immense since moving to CB and has won us the last two games with his positioning and shot blocking. Should never go to LB where he is exposed for pace but will be a capable sub for Botman.

Control freak wanting a win, any win. It’s like watching a car crash, you can’t take your eyes off it. Except this time we will laugh at the carnage.

I’ve literally zero time for moral relativism.

Here’s a test for you; write something hyper critical about the govt on your Facebook feed right now and see what happens.

Then go to Saudi Arabia and do the same about the govt there.  I mean, you won’t be able to use messenger over there, because obviously that can be used as a means of undermining the govt.  But stick something on Facebook calling for a change in govt.  Then let me know what it’s like being publically lashed, and remind yourself that had you been a Saudi citizen, the likely punishment would be execution.

Then come back and tell your half-baked shite about how everywhere is basically the same.

I live in the real world.  It is a lot safer for my wife and daughter to walk in the streets of Riyadh at night than the sleazy streets of Bondi.

All governments are shit. I don't believe that because you can yell at a government that it makes it a better society.

I do hope that the exposure of our club helps women's rights in Saudi, and I think over time it will.

I don’t think it is racist at all to question state ownership of football clubs - particularly when those states are dictatorships with appalling human rights records

This type of trope gets trotted out all the time and it's wrong. The murder and crime rates of Islamic countries compared to 'Western' countries is horrifically stark. What's the measure of human rights?

I believe PIF are playing the long game. They are building the foundations off field and are making progress with transfers with an eye to the now and future, whilst staying within the corrupt rules.

    Locked up again?

HaHa No. I am a travelling nomad, currently in Turkey. I spent last year in Newcastle, and loved game day and going to St James's.

Met a mouthy bloke in the Lowlights Tavern in North Shields who lamented that they should have left the convicts in England and all gone to Australia themselves. ;)

Fair enough - this is my last ever post then

passion emerges from us all differently. I prefer to listen, then listen, then listen, then consider and then respond with fury and anger.

  7. It is unbelievable that we are still an outside chance to finish 4th, with all the injuries we were diabolical at the back.

This game and over the last few weeks he has got the setup absolutely spot on. It was obvious that we were being exposed at the back to a fast break. (tear your hair out stuff yelling at BDB)

That has been corrected and we are now solid at the back and still look dangerous going forward.

He is showing what a great manager he is. When things get tough he makes and trains the new system into the team.

  8. I am absolutely fucked off, if we had of taken our chances we would have won. Would much prefer White getting minutes than Dummet.

When we are a bare bones squad it is the perfect time to blood youngsters and give them some responsibility in the team.

Relying on old hacks and getting the same results is a fucking waste.

  9. I can't understand why we play music that's not from here. "Hey Jude" (Fuck off, it's a barmy army song from Liverpool). Boring as fuck.

A cut down version of Hells Bells or Thuderstruck by Brian Johnston would be perfect. Before Local Hero.

    Thunder Struck or Hells Bells

And at the end of the game "We've gotta get out of this place" by the Animals"

I am no expert on Music here but celebrate what's ours. I have always loved "Indy" music or those that love to be heard.

There is so much dross in the world, we should embrace our own artists.

Chelsea done okay with this formula over the last few decades.

They didn't have the same FFP constraints.

  11. We have the right manager in place.

I have never seen teams be successful by changing managers constantly but I have seen clubs achieve success by allowing a good manager to grow and be a great one.

Eddie has already shown that he can galvanize a side to be better than it's separate parts. We were a year to early for UCL for where our squad was.

It's a simple formula, we have to keep upgrading players who are currently starters. We are more limited by FFP rules than those who we are competing with.

I was bitterly disappointed with the Milan loss, we had them and let it slip but we move on.

Following this club for over 50 years from near and afar I am now confident that we will win silverware and Eddie will be orchestrating it.

Players and managers putting their hands over their mouths when talking.

Agreed. I can understand it in American football where the opposition lip reader transmitted what play was coming next. In any other football what do they need to hide.  "Stop giving it to Rashford he's shit"

Its not about aesthetics. Its about everyone being in a pub thats heaving. My son in law got us tickets and my lass a ticket whilst we were walking over the Red Heuegh bridge. They were in France but we were always going to love going to the pink Triangle in  Toon . We saw a Bruno masterclass and Lewis Miley slots his first goal. (WTF).  Maggie punched the bloke in front of e her. Absolutely fucking brailliant

 If I don't live there for at least a year I'll never forgive myself.

Gday Mike, We have been here for nearly a year now. Met friends at the Liberty to watch the game with much trepidation. Man U again remembering that shitty league cup loss. Battered them tonight and can’t quite believe that we are a good side after so many years of neglect. Jumping and chanting at the Old George on the way home. This is the time to drop everything and get over here. The football is incredible but the people are what makes it so.

  15. The open corruption that is accepted as normal is the problem. It is laughable that they are going to have another vote to stop us bringing in a player from the Saudi league. The PL is a farcical disgrace, protecting the clubs who are making it money.

Attitudes will change when great clubs like Villa and us take the European spots or better.

  16. Ask yourself whether you would prefer to be in Liverpool's place or ours.

We are in control of our own destiny and I'm loving watching Eddies Howes lads going about it.

We will finish top four because Eddie has shaped us into a dynamic football team. Enjoy It.
