Clark is a decent pro and a good servant of the club, but like many of our players he's simply not good enough for this level, we bought him in the championship to help us get promoted and he did, but he should've been gone a long time ago

Stop dragging the bar so fucking low for that adulation.

  2. Quite frankly - I couldn't give a fuck about the lad to be honest.

I'm not getting too excited. Same with Shelvey. I'm expecting both to be shit soon enough.

Shelvey's had about 5 managers give him a new life now....

Joelinton ran around for 18 months like a spastic under Bruce. Bruce aside, nobody goes from retard to the next Vieira.

  3. Would love to believe he's trolling - it's too tragic to believe to be real.

Heard on podcasts that apparently he was a decent laugh at Liverpool, and actually has a sense of humour to date.

At least 60% thinks he knows what he's up too posting that and quite frankly couldn't give a fuck, but the other 39% is sure he's dragged his family out to a horse stable to watch him polish his medal collection.

Ashley is uncertainty; we're still struggling through fog.

  5. I was pissed off to see his creature come on at 80mins rather than Howe give Anderson a run out, or give Joe White a debut.

Bet Jeff enjoyed his match bonus though.

Can't remember the exact game where Bruce brought Jonjo on for 40 seconds for a match bonus - but Howe bringing Hendrick on over at least Anderson annoyed me similarly.

I agree that saying there is a conspiracy against us is a bit stupid, that's why I would never say it. But the talking head refs have done nowt this week but protect the reputation of the spectacle that the TV companies market. To turn discussion of that into conspiracy bollocks is disingenuous at best.

I may have got the wrong end of the stick then?

Still, I wouldn't be reading or looking too much into what pundits or ex refs are saying - that's just me, I couldn't give a fuck what any pundit thinks about the Ederson challenge when we still have Clark doing that inside 6 minutes, or us having to play Ritchie at LB against Sterling.

I'm more of a 'Pick your Battles' type. I'd certainly be moaning like fuck about Ederson and VAR if it was 60th minute and we'd been competing with Man City. By 60th minute, we'd given up pressing them, and City had gone back into 2nd gear playing keep ball - barely reached 3rd anyhow.

Newcastle United's biggest issue right now isn't pundits having an opinion we agree with, it's Eddie Howe having to pick a starting XI against Man United that will have to include names like Clark, Lascelles, Ritchie, Krath, Manquillo, Hayden, Willock, Shelvey, Murphy, Fraser - that's not including Longstaff, Gayle, Hendrick who will be on the bench!

Nobody, other than you, mentioned conspiracy.

Oh aye, not denying that. I also used the word 'bleating'. Don't understand your huff and puff over this all really.

My overarching point is, I think it's a bit silly people thinking that referees and the Big 6 are secretly planning against us to see us relegated; even more ludicrous extending the influence BT Sport may hold because they have Peter Walton on their payroll.

  8. 3 minutes ago, Happinesstan said:

Fuck off I said fuck all about a conspiracy. You get a grip.

I think the PL and TV companies are playing a large part in this - Top 6 sides seem to get the benefit of the doubt and or course you could argue that there is a motive for us being relegated from the PL, since the takeover. Mind, we are doing a good enjoy job of being shite and shooting ourselves in the foot!

Where there is lots of money at stake, there is ALWAYS corruption.

    >> Aye. Who pays Walton's wages when he's on these shows?

Reads the basis of an affirmation of some sort of conspiratorial, corrupt dealings.

No conspiracy, get a grip. TV companies and shows were bleating on endlessly about refereeing decisions long before BT started giving a salary to likes of Peter Walton.

Even before VAR came along, the fan interest in wanting to hear/watch refs decisions on MOTD, Sky or hear from Dermot Gallagher on the previous weekends refereeing fuck ups is just invented. Would guess 90% of fans couldn't give a flying fuck. It's all a pseudoscience.

Something to moan at down the pub, as now gone to having us hear from Peter Walton. Nobody likes refs to begin with, what in hell makes you think I want his analyses on anything.

Neville and MNF's rise 10 year ago was on the back of giving football analyses that wasn't built on the back of A) oh, look at this goal B) talking about referees

He was known  in Jormany for his defensive work and willingness to carry out instructions. I don’t think the scouting was wrong, we just used him horribly. Naglsemann is no fool and he loves him.

Makes sense this. Bruce and The Merry Band of Steve's had fuck all instruction wise, so clocks on Joelinton did fuck all.

Yet to get my hopes up, enjoy seeing him play better, and putting up performances that show he deserves a future here. Never had him down as a CM though.

  11. In a parallel universe nobody would bat an eye at him bottom of the league with Derby or lining up alongside likes of Colback and Grabban at Forest, or even mid-table in League 1 playing for Sheff Wed or Ipswich.

Just like the Bruce situation, and many players - it's only by the grace of being paid by Newcastle United that they are Premier League players.

He needs to fuck off with this 4-4-2 and 3-4-3 shite, we don't have the required personnel to play it. 4-2-3-1 or 3-5-2 are the only viable formations with the dross we have atm.

4231 and 442 are fundamentally the exact same.

Likewise Ritchie. It makes me squirm a bit seeing the pelters he gets when you think back to him being a huge part of us coming up and staying up. The criticism's absolutely fair but it's 99% that he's past it/playing in the wrong position/should have been improved upon ages ago rather than him not putting the graft in.

The good servant lark bores me to death. Never going to sell my heart to likes of Clark, Shelvey and Ritchie. Clark was atrocious when he went down with Villa years ago. Decent for us in the Championship, any decent game or period he's had for us in the PL has been a bonus. Baffles me how supporters expect anymore than a 5/10 performance from most of our squad - whatever XI is played, by probability one of two of them are going to cost us at least a goal a game whoever we play.

He was never the type of player that should have been playing for us past 2018 after we'd stayed up, but as supporters we've had to settle for him due to ownership - as supporters we never excepted the ownership, so by extension I'm not accepting Ciaran Clark playing for Newcastle United in 2020, 2021 and going into 2022.

Totally numb to the performances of likes of Clark, Ritchie, Hayden, Shelvey and Lascelles now. Was past giving a shit under Bruce/Ashley, and I've seen nothing to stimulate me under Howe as of yet. Whatever XI Howe is playing against Liverpool/Man City/Man U or even two thirds of the league, he's onto a loser.

If it wasn't Clark today, it would have been Lascelles. If it wasn't Willock/Hayden in midfield it would have been some other donkey. Almiron and Fraser we're shite. Since McLaren/Ashley, Howe is now in a situation of throwing whatever shit he come across to a wall, and it all sticking.
