Guest Howaythetoon
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=7065205277695921912 Watched it the other day and I have to say my own view of the world is pretty similar to that in terms of money, the planet and what we as humans are about or should be. Cracking watch I thought. Anyone seen it? Thoughts?
Parky
Yup a very thought provoking watch, some inaccuracies, but generally gets one thinking. What bits did you like?
Guest Howaythetoon
Yup a very thought provoking watch, some inaccuracies, but generally gets one thinking. What bits did you like? Pretty much all of it to be honest. Yes there are some inaccuracies and some false statements even but in general I think the overall message is more important than a few inaccuracies and it is that message that strikes a chord with me and my own personal beliefs. I don't buy the "everything is one big conspiracy" line myself (not that Zeitgeist is peddling such a line) but our systems or our way of life really is working against us and will continue to do so for as long as we keep buying into it all. Be it religion, capitalism or any other system that has us by the balls. We have the means to feed, clothe, care for and educate the world and we have the means to also care for the world itself and all those other creatures that share this planet with us but the $ or £ prevents us individually and collectively to do anything about it other than the odd token gesture which even in itself is often largely all about the $/£ or self. And that has to change, it must.
GG
Abolish the system, yes. Replace it with what though? There lies the problem.

And that has to change, it must. To start with information must become freely available to all. I would outlaw private ownership of the mass media and make them all trusts. GG
Freedom? Humans can't co-exist with complete freedom, there's always an individual or collective who'd use this to leverage power. I quite like the facade of freedom we currently have, at least it's not openly dictatorial in nature.

Parky
GCSE English Lit bruv, lord of the flies innit. The main problem is information, people get about 5% of the information that should be available. This for me is the greatest problem, people are making their minds up with scant details. Shearer9
Found this defense of Zeitgeist, feel like it nicely matches the coherency of the film itself: It also say that news or whereever these ''Oficial'' critics are a propaganda tools.a filtred controled information that will normally degrade this movie like you can read.to keep a fictif image of the movie..notice that they say that its sure that its false and there is no way to belive this..but normaly a non controled media sould have a neutral opinion on a movie

Adam
Is this the same as the one that came out a while ago or is there more or is it totally new ? The biggest issue is information like Parky said. I have found myself watching News channels like Al Jazeera, France 24 and Press TV more and more simply because they are far more balanced than BBC CNN etc.

Adam
I know it is more balanced simply because they show both sides of a story, with examples of both. Compared to the BBC who increasingly note both sides then harp on about one of them. The way the BBC etc, use terms with implied meaning as fact is also a joke. Channel 4 news is the best UK news by a long shot.
Parky
There is a flow chart somewhere where it proves the BBC is evil.
