Postage Fees

Right, can someone clear something up for me here. I ordered a CD from the Warner Brothers record store in America, and paid $12.00 shipping fee to get it here. Now it's arrived at the depot and the Post Office want £12.00 as apparently there was no stamps or something. Surely I can email WB and ask for the £12.00 refund, seeing as I already paid the shipping fees when I first ordered it? Is it not their responsibility, once I've paid for them to, to make sure that it reaches me?

You sure it's not the custom/import fee that you have to pay? If it indeed is the shipping and you've already paid for it, I should think that should be able to get it back. Don't know like, but it would make sense.

Nah I'm not sure, my postie wasn't sure himself. I'll ask when I go to get it, just a bit pissed off that I've already paid shipping fees on it and now have to pay more to actually get it. Would it make a difference if it was the import fee?

It does seem a bit strange that it's the exact same fee as the shipping costs. If it's the custom, you're just going to have to pay it, as it's the extra cost of buying something from overseas.

It's not the same, shipping was 12 dollars, this is 12 pounds. Probably is the custom then, meaning I just got irate and made a thread for nothing. :aww:

Thanks for clearing it up anyway , I wasn't even really aware of customs fees, never had to pay it on anything else I've ordered from abroad.

Like dan said, they don't check everything, and also if you ordered from within the European Union you don't have to pay custom.
