Cheick Tioté (1986–2017)

Recommended Posts

These little injuries that he is picking up may well be the thing discouraging teams putting in a bid. Spending £20million at least on a player that will miss a few games here and there may be putting them off.

It set him back last season, looked sluggish at times, but the guy showed his quality by still getting the job done.

Just out for a change of oil. Hopefully he'll start with Anita and Cabaye in an advanced position. We have to take care of the ball when we have it and not waste too many balls, or we'll invite pressure for sure. Ben Arfa is the key offensively.

If Tiote was out today, I doubt Pardew would have given Anita and Bigi the whole 90 in Greece.

This is probably spot on, or at least I hope it is.

We need him fit so Côte d'Ivoire beat Senegal so Ba and Cisse don't go to ACON!  :frantic:

If Ba and Cisse are gone for a month....

:suicide:

Arsenal were supposed to buy him the January after we did, they were also supposed to buy him last summer, they were also supposed to buy him last January.

Arsenal aren't interested.

We'll see.  Can't see 15m being enough and I'm sure similar publications were saying that M'Vila was their top target last week (and for 10m).  They're guessing

£15 million will be laughed at by MA.

Exactly when they got him to sign the new 6 yr contract last year, they would have a figure much higher than £15m in mind if they were to cash in.

Tbh can see Cabaye having his head turned by Arsenal a bit, but we should be able to price them out. We need to send a message that we only sell early in the window so we can replace, realistically it's how the club will be run and I don't mind with Carr scouting, but panic selling and buying would be a disaster.

its just lazy journalism, the reason they went for Sahin is Wenger thought he could get him on the cheap to fill a gap while they wait for Wilshire to get fit or one of their younger players ready for first team action. Can't see Arsenal spending much if anything before the deadline

They do need a defensive midfielder but so does half the league. Surprised they haven't made a proper attempt for M'Vila but bleh. I'd like to think now is when our emphasis on squad unity pays off and players are happy to stay.
