Cheick Tioté (1986–2017)

Recommended Posts

Fuck sake. Crazy pass to give away the ball, then lays on the floor playing everyone onside. Thick as fuck. Captain

Had a very good game until then though.

Was generally excellent except for two sloppy moments around the 38th/40th minutes.

Bramble used to do the same. It's those moments though that can ruin all the good work for your team.

Playing like the Tioté of old

Slowing down our play and helping us concede goals. Totally agree.

Give over man

Did you miss the goal?

Redeemed himself somewhat with a powerful 2nd half. Someone needs to tell him though if he's injured just go off the pitch, don't start trying to get back in line with the defence when liverpool are on the attack.

The College Dropout

If he can continue to play generally like this he'll be awesome. Noticed he actually sat today. Did well mostly.

better just wish he'd remember he can't shoot to save his life

That 2nd half tackle with him winning it, he had Ben Arfa coming up on his right shoulder but chose to shoot.

That chance when he had Remy and Ben Arfa with him and decided to shoot himself  Pardew had his head in his hands.

Yep, showed what he can actually do. Was noticeably popping the ball off to Cabaye a lot more as well. That's what needs to happen if that partnership is going to work.

Other than the misplaced pass which led to Suarez through in goal before the penalty and playing Suarez onside he was very very good.

One of his best performances in recent times like bar a few dodgy moments. Thought he and Cabaye commanded the midfield well enough (certainly in the first 40 minutes anyway) - reminded me of their CM performance against Man U in Janaury 2012.

He needs to be told one thing though - to stop having a shot outside the 18 yard box.

I thought the armband would send him into full on reckless 'warrior' mode but he was superb other than the first goal, which was a farce.
