Cheick Tioté (1986–2017)

He was brilliant today, the number of times he anticipated a loose ball or stray pass from the opposition showed just how intelligent his reading of the game can be. He broke up so much of their play and kick-started a lot of ours he was the key component for us in that engine room. That's all he has to do, none of the fancy passes or shooting. Although he did have a few of those mad moments. It is no coincidence that we are playing better and Cabaye is thriving with Tiote back on form in midfield. He is easily one of the best in his role in the league.

Excellent today, butI'll be a bit nervous about him playing v Southampton's pressing game next week. Decent on the ball today though.

Did the things that he's supposed to do, but if you're going to get into decent shooting positions 3 or so times a week, train yourself to at least hit the target ffs.

More worried about Cabaye being suspended me, he's our only real creative force if Hatem isn't playing.

Think Hatem will play and Sissoko will go in the middle.

DAT tackle in the first half  :sweetjesus:

All over the park today. Stupendous effort. Should still be wearing the armband. It's not about taking it away from Colo, but rather giving it to Tiote because he has been transformed since he got it the first time round.

Delighted for him, we've rightly criticised him but he's coming on strong now and getting back to being the Cheick that first arrived here.

Great to see

Never doubted that this boy had great ability - it shone through on his first appearance against Everton and I always knew he would eventually recover his form.

Can be impetuous at times in the tackle but he is a huge asset in winning balls in m/f...if he keeps it simple he is as good as any defensive midfielder in the PL.

He's got rid of the silly bookings and injuries and showing the form of 2-3 years ago. Quality yesterday and as they said on MOTD just the 'type' of player Man Utd are crying out for

have to say I don't think he's reverted to what he was, he's quicker at keeping it moving than he was during his previous good form, for me he's currently better than he has been at any time here.
