Especially for a team like Villa who is desperatly trying to avoid relegation. They are probably secure now if they get him. If he scores. Very strange move for the player. They bought him for £10m and he scores the majority of their goals (although he's having a poor spell at the minute). He's a very good striker, but I don't think he's ever formed an effective partnership with anybody, so you're basically consigned to 451 if you want to play him, and I'm not sure if he scores enough goals on his own to warrant that. 18M raising to 24M is a very good price though. If he wants to go (which seems to be the case seeing as his form has dipped dramatically recently) it's a good deal for the Mackems.
