Luuk de Jong signs for PSV

Recommended Posts

High hopes of this one getting done according to pardew on total sport.

Mm. Unusual optimism from him.

If you call 60-40 being optimistic...

Borussia Mönchengladbach just announced that Luuk de Jong not training today as medical with Newcastle is set up.

Seems done.

Have a feeling that he'll do well (assuming that he signs.) Seems like an intelligent player with a good touch.

Cabayes passes will help...

From Luke Edwards - apologies if Giggs!

Director of Football Joe Kinnear is close to finalising a loan move for Dutch international striker Luuk De Jong from German side Gladbach. If the 23-year-old is a success on Tyneside between now and June the move will become a permanent one.

Not really the answer to our problems at all IMO. Certainly won't help fill the massive void Cabaye will leave.

Just means we muddle by with Tiote, Anita, Sissoko in CM with 3 from Remy, LDJ, Gouf and Shola up top with the occasional appearance from HBA if we are lucky.

Cool, dampens the blow of Cabaye a bit, if it's true.

How? This deal is 6 months late and is in no way connected. We are still at least one player down in this window

Looks to be the case.

Tiote, Anita, Sissoko with Gouffran, Remy & De Jong up front.

6 goals in Germany in a season and a half. Not seen much of him at all, what do people think of him?

He has barely played since coming to Germany IIRC. Saying that, I've never seen him play.

I love how every signing is X months too late.

You are right, SHola playing so much was clearly the best option after such a hectic summers transfers for the club

I rated him at Twente & was disappointed he didn't sign went he went to Gladbach, I still think he's a good player and hopefully he can recover his form with us.

Don't seem to be making my arguments clearly enough this morning.

Bringing in De Jong is a waste of time and effort.  His record is akin to that of Cisse who can't buy a goal in the EPL, so why they seem to think DeJong will score goals is beyond me.
