ponsaelius
@McNallyMirror: @lee_ryder Aware of policy but find it ludicrous. So if a billionaire comes in he has to prove his worth with a 5-year #nufc box rental?Crap Haha. Like the school bully nobody likes picking on the borderline special kid. Nobody
£80m would probably not be enough to buy Cissé, Cabaye, Krul and Tiote.
WarrenBartonCentrePartin
Lee Ryder @lee_ryder Haha quality, have gone from being accused of knowing nothing to being in Ashley's pocket in the space of a week oh do shut up, Lee!
S.S.R.
It's daft. You can't have everyone being taken over my billionaire spend-a-lots. What is going to happen to the clubs when half of these inevitably get bored? They can't all buy success.

madras
£80m would probably not be enough to buy Cissé, Cabaye, Krul and Tiote. pointless but true. if he asset stripped then he'd end up losing money in the long run. an 80mill figure isn't so unrealistic as that would be the sale price with the debt built on top of that. it depends on whether you think ashley would cut his losses to get out without profit or loss ? still think and hope it's cack mind. IYO Not sure if it's a matter of opinion after seeing what Chelsea and Man City have achieved in the last 8 or so seasons through outside investment. does that mean it's the future of the game ? Let's put it this way: if this trend of megarich individuals buying English football clubs and investing huge sums of money in them continues there is a significant chance that clubs who don't have a megarich owner will be unable to compete and in a few years time the Premiership will consist of these kinds of clubs. It's not a vision of the future I particularly look forward to, but sadly it does look like that's exactly what the future holds, yes.
