They've played it at the end of games-- after wins.
-
You know, Shola may benefit from Keegan's management. Allardyce had him all boxed up and he couldn't play his game.
-
Sorry, but for how long as "Coming Home- Local Hero" been played before games at St. James'? I think the movie came out in the early 80s-- '83 or so.

So was Roeder a "great coach" or a "big name"?

He deserves Los Angeles. And Los Angeles deserves him. [/native San Franciscan magpie]

@HTT If the club had brought in anyone other than Keegan, this would've quieted down pretty quickly. There were weeks of media speculation about Spurs prior to Jol's sacking and it all stopped when he was replaced. Same would've been true with Newcastle had the club brought in, say, Deschamps. But it's Keegan. It is different. I don't think that any story would play as big as Keegan returning to Newcastle United. Keegan to Fulham? No story. Deschamps to NUFC? No story. Keegan to NUFC. BIG STORY.

Well, bringing back Keegan isn't exactly realistic is it. He's the anti-Allardyce!
-
It's a general principle. Goes without saying.
-
From what I've seen over the Internet, it all seems way over the top. But I'm enjoying it. Three, four, five, even six articles about NUFC on every news site. Could there be another managerial appointment that would get this much press? Edit: Oh, ten on the BBC. Nice.

Boy, you guys are going to be disappointed when our only signing in this window is..... Antoine Sibierski!
-
My initial response was disappointment. I had convinced myself that Deschamps was the answer. Really.

http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_3052902,00.html I've googled, and I haven't found anything to the contrary. Please correct me if I am wrong. If he's available, he's got to start IMO.

Does anyone think Barton will play? Got a feeling he will.
-
Expect Barton to do well. Smith, as well-- in his new role coming in off the bench.
-
We're 10 points off 8th and 13 points off 4th and the Champions League. If 7th is achievable, maybe 4th is as well. Anyway, let's see who Kevin brings in.
-
Yeah, but UV's response is classic. Well, I laughed anyway.
-
That would be in line with the whole fairy tale theme...
-
Who wants sane and realistic?
-
Given Carr Taylor Cacapa Enrique Milner Barton N'Zogbia Duff Viduka Owen
-
Actually, think Coleman would be a good call.

One. Creative. Playmaker.

Getting an unfancied French side to the CL final and losing to arguably the best manager in the world good enough? Great achievement but is all the hype really coming because of that? He jumped ship when Monaco were 15th after being there 16 months and took an excellent Juventus squad with plenty of top players out of Serie B, he left them after falling out over transfers or something. Like I've said, I'm not knocking the bloke because I don't know that much about him, I'm guessing some on here who are jumping on the bandwagon don't know that much about him either, I'm approaching his appointment with an open mind but I'd like someone to tell me what is so good about him. Isn't he just like Klinsmann/Shearer/Van Basten? I don't see any difference between any in those group. They're all relatively inexperienced but had great footballing careers and is widely respected around the world. On a tangential note, I think each of them are different and it's up to Mort to identify which one of them will fit in with the club best. Frank Rijkaard relegated the first club team he managed, then got sacked. But somehow, for his second job, he was appointed manager of Barcelona. Laporta and co saw something in Rijkaard and knew he'd be good and he's proven them right. I hope Mort/Ashley can be as astute and ambitious. Wouldn't put Deschamps in that group. He's managed two club sides and has no national experience. Van Basten: Netherlands 2004-2008 Shearer: Nothing Klinsmann: Germany 2004-2006 Deschamps: Monaco 2001-2005, Juventus 2006-2007
