  1. I'm doing an article on Pardew - what are some of the more remarkable stats, apart from 5 defeats in a row? Is 'never winning after going behind' actually true?

    no

He's won a few after going behind.

He's lost one fifth of the games Newcastle scored first in.

There's plenty on my twitter in my sig.

Worst one I saw today was that Williamson had 4 aerial duels in Swansea's box on Saturday.

    STILL!!!!????

After 4 years!  104 appearances with 2 Assists! No goals!

STILL!!! we lump the ball at that 50p piece headed t*** EVERY frigging time.

Never got past the 4th round of either cup in Pardew's reign having been knocked out by heavyweights such as Brighton (twice), Stevenage, Cardiff etc.

  2. Yes, Birmingham's fanbase is mainly concentrated around the areas near the ground in Small Heath and Solihull etc. but Villa's following comes from all over the W Mids

I live in Solihull and I find it reasonably mixed on the whole, with the people I know. I agree the likes of Small Heath are very Blues based.

Still think they should be getting more into the ground; appreciating of course that they are a poor side. There just never seems to be anyone inside St Andrews.

 Yeah I was a student there for 3 years and went to a few games as a neutral and Birmingham always seem to have a very small fanbase compared to the likes of Villa and even WBA.

  3.

Birmingham fans aren't getting a great deal with their home form. 0-4 HT.

For a city the size of Birmingham, their support base is absolutely terrible.

Its all Villa or non-local teams in that region.

Disagree tbh. The city centre and surrounding is mostly blues. Go abit further out and it's villa.

  4. Perhaps, but they've not finished outside the top 8 since 2006. That level of consistency for a club like Everton is something we couldnt even contemplate at the minute.

so he's been highly consistent over a sustained period then?  not consistently brilliant, nor consistently terrible, just consistent

he's a massive upgrade on pardew so i'd take him in a heartbeat but i don't think he'd be the right fit for us personally, we only really take to managers whose aim is to go out and win games

You make it sound like the media are right; we'd rather lose 4-3 than win 1-0.

well we don't win 1-0 anymore so might as well lose 4-3 aye

Losing 4-3 consistently would be a massive improvement on our current predicament!

I think Moyes is a very good manager and far better than anyone else that might realistically work with Mike Ashley and who Mike Ashley might reasonably appoint.

  5. Moyes and Pardew both play the same kind of anti-football though. Moyes might do it a little better, but it'd still just be more of the same.

But Moyes has been highly successful at it over a period of many years at a club of a similar size, budget and stature to us. Given that the alternatives are likely to be stick with Pardew or appoint someone highly uninspiring, Moyes would be a fantastic appointment.

Wouldn't be surprised if Villa went for Moyes if he got sacked incidentally.

  6.

    Cash turnstiles tonight.

Fairly surprised since Palace was sold out. Guess it is a weeknight.

The 2 turnstiles are Leazes Level 7 so guess Everton won't have as many up as Palace did on Saturday.

Wait. There aren't 70000 Everton fans coming?

    Rolls Eyes Smiley thingy.

They're usually quite well supported up here and i'd expect them to have about 2K minimum usually, perhaps not tonight?

Tonight is the first away of the season that hasn't sold out. Probably with it being midweek just before pay day. And our s*** away form.

Fancy a score draw tonight. If you don't score at least one set piece against us I will be staggered.

    :yao:

  7. Taking aside the obvious feel good factor that has been taken from the club by selling Cabaye and not replacing him, there is still a chance to finish higher than 8th.

For instance, we play Man United, Tottenham and Everton all at home now and if we pick up in form these three fixtures could be key.

Win all of these (  :yao: ) irrespective of other fixtures and the picture looks a lot different.

Bear in mind in this one he's next to George Elokobi who isn't the most nimble!
