  1. We've got Aarons back soon. How long for is anybody's guess but having Townsend would only stall Aarons' progress if he was fit for the rest of the season as he'd be even further down the pecking order. I mean even Obertan was starting ahead of him ffs. I think Townsend is a waste of time.

  2. I don't see any point in Townsend, even Thauvin can't get a game at the moment. We'd just have two wingers on the bench, not sure in the sense of it all. Nothing really against Townsed, he's areet but just seems like he would be wasted here when Sissoko isn't going to be shifted from the right hand side.

  3.

The video posted on the previous page shows it was the vast majority of the crowd who went mental with delight at our relegation. It was just a bizarre reaction towards a club who are based 200 miles away and that they'd had no previous bad blood with.

    This!

They had been singing about us going down in bars pre-match, on the way to the ground and throughout the match! They when mental at full time and were giving it big style after the match! Several skirmishes but a heavy police presence probably stopped any bigger scale happening! I cannot wait to be present there in May and send these b******s down (or hopefully they’re already down!)!

As a few have said, Brummie seems a top bloke but he has to expect what’s coming if the ideal scenario is on the cards in May!

Aye, there's no excuses for the way Villa went on, none at all. If it was the other way around, aye i'm sure a few songs would have went around SJP taken the piss but no way would the majority be staying behind in their seats to gloat...and no chance would we have been following them back down the A1 goading them!

  4. If a club comes in offering massive money for Mahrez, then fair enough. He's young, he's improving, has a lot of quality about his game and looking a real talent.

Any club putting big money bids for Vardy are mental. I've never seen a player get overhyped as much as him. Ranieri claiming clubs couldn't afford him, anyone bidding anything more than 15 million are mental. Even at 15, i think it's a stretch for someone who is approaching 29, reliant on pace and only this year found top level form.

I hate to see any underdog winning a competition that Newcastle have entered so I hope they crash and burn.

    Pure bitterness.

This for me as well

If i had to choose one side to win it, it would be Arsenal. However that takes away the real fun factor of twitter when Arsenal win, as their fans have the best meltdowns when they fuck up.

  5. Our fans brought a 'Pardew back from the dead' banner into the ground ffs, that's the kind of sycophantic s*** we're capable of.

I know one of the lads who pulled that stunt and he supports Chelsea

Media get all over it and it just makes a mockery of Newcastle fans in general. Easy for a small minority to have a big impact on what other fans make of a particular fanbase. In regards to us going down and Villas reaction though, that was way over the top and not just a small minority.

  6. It's the Mahrez, Vardy & Kante trio that's been amazing.

Did you mention anything about Kante before he was analysed on MOTD the other week, by any chance?

Tbh, i didn't even know who he was until Leicester game then couple of their fans before the game were raving about him and said he was their player of the seaosn but not getting the credit like some others.

What game was it where MOTD pointed him out? Never watch that anymore, can't stand Shearer on it.

  7. So sick of him being one of the first blokes on the team sheet every b****** week.

Massive hinderence. We can't progress and develop as a side with him in it but he's no way near being forced out.

3 yellows suggest he's closer than we think

Pretty sure had he not got injured, he'd have served his 2 game suspension by now.

Aye, suppose he'll be forced out for 2 games. We could win the two games and he would come straight back in though

Been a long time since i hated a player who plays for Newcastle as much as i do Colback. Lee Ryder gave him an 8 for his performance with the tagline of 'ran himself into the ground', pretty much summed up why certain fans like him.

  8. For some reason I can see this game being really cagey and scrappy. A win will really settle my nerves as far as relegation goes.

I'm pretty conservative when it comes to the teams in the PL so Villa getting relegated isn't something I want to see but their owner hasn't given a f*** for years. The new teams coming up have been really pushing the limits of what they can do and tbh have made things a lot more interesting. It's Villa's time now. You can't expect to just make up the numbers for this long.

After the way they went on with us?

Not only do i hope they get relegated, i hope they never return tbh.

Yup. f*** them after some of their fans treated us. I've been waiting for them to go down ever since, and tweet "who's your messiah now?" The tweet's been ready and drafted since then

  10. I honestly fail to see this Keyser Soze effect that De Jong's had on people. I just don't get it. Yes, he's looked calm and mature, but no way in hell should he be in the team ahead of Perez or Mitro. We need to find a way to fit them all in, but if it has to be one or the other, De Jong needs to produce something, anything, of substance to dislodge those two.

Give him the run he deserves and he will start producing. He was unlucky not come away with a goal yesterday. He's had two games against tough opposition and had solid 7/10 games. De Jong will be much more effective when we are the team dominating rather than just trying to play on the counter.

  11. Well in a perfect world i agree, but we don't have good enough fullbacks or midfield to make that work yet. So for now it's one or the other and to me it's Perez every day.

When Mark Hughes finds a system to fit in Shaqiri, Afellay, Arnautovic and Bojan with Whelan as their central midfielder, i fail to see how we can't get our best attacking options out on the pitch and we look to make excuses to why it's either one player or the other. Negative bullshit for me, what's the worst that can happen? We try it one time and we get a mauling? Not like this current system has been immune to them.

This current 4-4-1-1 isn't creative enough imo, even if Perez/Mitrovic start as the two, it's still not good enough imo against the lesser sides.

    What is your suggestion?

Think i've posted it before but i'd like to see this given a go for a game. If we are far too open or it has major faults, work around it and find out how to make things work. Most important thing we need to do as team going forward, is get Colback the f*** outta there though.

            Anita

    Sissoko Wijnaldum

          De Jong

        Mitrovic Perez

I'd just have Perez as the runner, basically the legs for De Jong/Mitro, working the channels and looking for runs in behind.

Sissoko doesn't really have change his position too much from what it is now.

  13. Nee pissing about, just Mitro & Perez for Cisse & De Jong and we'll have no worries.

Got to agree with this. They both looked a class above when they came on, but the game had opened up by then.

Nah, De Jong must continue to start. He'll never improve if he's in and out of the team, need to stick by him. I think there's room for De Jong plus Mit/Perez in the side.

He's always going to be in and out of the team though because Perez is better.

Don't agree that he has to be dropped, don't see why Perez and Mit can't both start with him in behind. It would be better for McClaren going forward to find a system to accomodate his best players rather than continue with this current system in which we aren't utilising our best players.
