nope, updated 5 mins ago exactly. On this day in 2009 we drew 1-1 at home to Sunderland. And then 5 years later Colback rammed home the 3rd for SAFC against us.

Must have been been me. Deleted cookies and a refresh and it's back. Thanks

How Consistent Was Every Premier League Lineup This Season?

What our newest metric STABLE can tell us about Arsenal’s surprising title challenge and Chelsea’s face-plant.

    By Ryan Best

Before the 2022-23 Premier League campaign kicked off, there was a buzz around St. James’ Park that hadn’t been felt in quite some time: optimism. After years of bottom-half finishes, relegation scraps and mediocrity, it finally felt like Newcastle United was building a team its fans could believe in.1 Driven by a cohesive and formidable defensive unit — a four-man back line and goalkeeper who played more than 76 percent of the season’s minutes together2 — the Magpies more than delivered, blowing away their most bullish expectations to earn a top-four finish and a place in next year’s Champions League.

A manager dictating who the person above is is a huge red flag to me.

What does a Technical Director do like? How do you know is above and not along side as part of a team?

  4. Howe would be good for now. The manager we appoint now only needs to get us a 2 or 3 places up the league with 28 games to go and a will surely have a significant pot of cash to spend in January. Any players bought for that short term goal can be recycled out in due course, as can the manager. The bigger picture is the CEO and DOF needed before the wholesale reorganisation of the organisation and redevelopment of the dilapidated infrastructure takes place. Any elite manager would want to see what they were getting into before joining us right now. I'm not really surprised we can't attract any of those, notwithstanding Rafa who clearly gave up on us.

I'm sure Howe could do that short term job and could eventually walk away with the kudos of keeping us up and the profile it will bring. We will certainly be one of the highest profile clubs going forwards. He's got nothing to lose if he joins us, and if he turns out to better than many seem to think he is, then that's a bonus. Personally I think we are 3 managers away (and a billion £ overhaul) from winning anything significant.

  5. So , the head chopping journalist murdering , woman torturing MBS is going to A . Pass the fit and proper persons test B . Have NUFC run for him by a Jewish bloke and a woman ? Yeah , right , stroll on ... Give ya heeds a shake

    Something inappropriate about Lee Ryder.

  6. I didn't renew my season ticket in 2013 after the second coming of Joe Kinnear. I'd had a season ticket since 1981 at that point. It was obvious at that point the whole thing was a joke / merchandising outlet for Ashley. He's not had a penny of my money since. I looks for NUFC news every day (like an idiot), hoping for change. It's not coming. Nothing is going to change. Until someone rocks up with enough cash to make him happy, it will be like this. Every time some gonk pulls on a pair of dirty cheap Lonsdale tracky bottoms, he wins. They do that partly because he exploits NUFC as an advertising vehicle, partly because his whole manufacturing and distribution chain is based on exploitation.

    Walk away.
