  1. think you're being harsh on Best, he's actually quite deceptively mobile and agile for a big man. Best is actually the only striker we got that can hold up play of any significance, shola tries his best but is always left wanting. that turn and spin at QPR, that Leon Best did with an excellent shot to boot, only to be equalled by a great save, alot of small pacey fowards couldn't do that. but i agree i don't understand, with the last two managers, they had both favoured having tall robust fowards upfront. CH had Carroll and Nolan just behind. now pards is trying best with ba behind or shola. its abit stagnating and old. CH to a point i understood because the physicallity of the championship demanded big men that season, then we got promoted,. it was amazing last season on how badly opposition defenders could not cope with direct balls into the box, CH seized upon that, Carroll had a field day even at stamford bridge. but i dont believe just because you play big men upfront it has to mean playing direct. Having best and two attacking wide men beside him can do the trick for us. something pards have not bothered trying. we saw how well QPR passed it around when they had one single bean pole that is bothroid upfront , had that been carroll or best playing upfront for qpr that day they would have creamed all over us.
  2. wouldn't it make more sense to put suarez out wide than carroll dalglish, from same school of management as souness?
  3. hate dalglish , hope they get another red. up yours kenny
  4. most underated player in the squad. Besty reminds me of fat viduka. the decent leeds united version of viduka b4 he joined us and turned into a huge turd. infact. besty is like the none lazy less skillful version of berbatov. cumbersome player. but deceptively quick n nimble with nice technical skills. yeh ok im drunk , fuck off!

I think the problem was in midfield rather than on the left. Even if we played Santon, he would still be forced to defend 1 on 1 against SWP which was probably too much for him to handle. So if you say why don't he change the tactics at HT to nullify SWP's threat, then my response was that should he drop Tiote? this is true, even enrique would have had a tough night, swp didnt dominate his flank by dribbling up and down . he hardly needed to dribble past our players he dominated because our midfield was too thin and it allowed taarabt in midfield time to carve those cutting deftly diagonal passes towards our left flank thus created the space for swp to run onto. tarabt passing was tremendous last night, hence why pard didnt do anything about it was a f***ing mystery.

If we see any difference it will be because the players adapt by themselves when more technical players are introduced. I don't see any hint of active coaching to get us to play from the back like Keegan did when he was trying to undo Fat Sam's brainwashing. If what he's doing is a plan which to gradually introduce the new players to English football it's not a very good one. I'm sure Cabaye and the like would prefer to play on the deck. it also disturbs me when i heard pardew speak last season about giving tiote more licence to go foward in the future, for f*** sake! dont f*** up the game of one player that we genuine need to depend upon. tiote's game is solely to be the destroyer thats what he's great at, dont f*** around with him and tell him to go foward when he doesnt need to. we have other players for that. having said all this tiote werent much f***ing good playing deep either last night, i dont know what was wrong with him last night. Given Tiote's current form, we are doing a kamikaze if Cabaye didn't play that deep. If you remember last match (if you have watched it), notice how many f***ing times Tiote let Taarabt free to receive and turn to run? Part of the reason why Raylor had a nightmare was because Taarabt was free in the middle and able to make direct pass to SWP. I agree Cabaye should be the player who goes forward instead of Tiote, but at this moment we deadly need Cabaye to play deep there. If we want a player to go forward, we'd better play Vuckic or Guthrie and drop Tiote. i agree , last night we needed both deep thats why i was crying out for another man in midfield, but stevie wonder was too busy playing his "gambling" with his two man uptop bullshit all night, when most of us was sat there red faced fuming to find out after half time we had the same shit old line-up as the first 45! fuck me i was so incensed when the camera panned to that gormless greyed haired twat i almost smashed the tv.

my sentiments exactly, alot of people always seem to think, if you play 4-4-2 that automatically mean you are attacking. complete crap, i think pardew seems to think we all think of the systems just like that, give us some fucking credit, i thought that was his sole reason for sticking with 4-4-2 at home, because he thought that gave us fans the impression we are set out to attack. but then he goes on doing the same shit at away games, its baffling. lump the ball long, long ball long ball. jesus.

Obviously, but it is encouraging that he's aware of where we went wrong, and admits to being too slow in making the changes. its one thing admitting you're wrong, another thing is knowing you're wrong and doing f*** all about it. 81 minutes before he changed the shape of the team?( should have changed it after 45 minutes at the most!) when pardew said he got it wrong he excused his mistake as a "gamble" he f***ing said he gambled on our strong defence , which is why he continue with two men uptop and not bringing on another midfield. wtf??? thats not gambling thats kamikaze tactician he's seeing our team ripped apart and by some miracle we manage not to concede thanks to the turd they had upfront, complete out numbered out passed outclassed in midfield yet he didnt bother to bring on another man in midfield becuase he "gambled" ? im sorry? but for a so called premiership manager with that many years of experience being paid thousands a week, to pass that mistake off as a "gamble" is completely unacceptable.
  9. exactly, greatest left back italy had ever produced was a right footed guy called maldini. best left back at bundesligue one of the best in world is philip lahm , completely right footed.

I'm sure Cabaye and the like would prefer to play on the deck. pard was really f***ing clueless last night, i mean it reminded me of the days under Roeder, in the first half tiote was futher foward than cabaye some of the time, it was reminiscent of parker and emre, when glenn use to let parker bomb foward leaving fatboy emre in the hole to mop up. f***ing clueless tactics. it should be the other way round. cabaye is much than a defensive midfielder, he can atually be effective futher up it also disturbs me when i heard pardew speak last season about giving tiote more licence to go foward in the future, for f*** sake! dont f*** up the game of one player that we genuine need to depend upon. tiote's game is solely to be the destroyer thats what he's great at, dont f*** around with him and tell him to go foward when he doesnt need to. we have other players for that. having said all this tiote werent much fucking good playing deep either last night, i dont know what was wrong with him last night. pardew is someone that talks a great game, but really he's just all talk and no f***ing clue what he's doing.

So he didn't have to make a save then? Simpson and S.Taylor did it for him. Got caught out a couple of times coming for the ball and then changing his mind, SWP tried chipping him both times one was going in but for Taylor's great clearance. I know he did mate. It was more a comment on how we managed to keep another clean sheet and their poor finishing, but some pedant decided to have a moan. Pop at me I'm guessing. You were making it come across that he had noubt to do but anyone watching the match knew that wasn't true. It wasn't due to great defence we kept a clean sheet last night it was down to their p*ss poor finishing. Well I thought the back 4 was ok ish, barring Raylor who had an absolute car crash of a game, pretty much everything came down that flank. Poor finishing to a degree, but we did scrap and put challenges in on a lot of their efforts, which obviously helped. They missed the Bothroyd sitter and SWP's header, which was far more difficult then what Sky made out I thought, but the rest of their chances we had pressure on the ball or lads on the line. Yeah, we should have lost 3-0, just trying to put a positive slant on it thats not very positive lol, try harder.

f*** off pards, shit interview, hindsights a f***ing great thing but not in football, he knew we were out numbered in midfield yet he didnt know how to put an extra man in midfield?, not until the 81st minute. errrr dime bar!!!!

he is ready to play, you need to remember for a young lad to get trounced on his first game can have detrimental effects on his psyche , and that could have led to a bad introduction and a horrible long winding season for the lad. obviously had we play well and was winning it would have been perfect way to introduce the lad around the last third of the game.

    Alan Pardew

people can stop talking about santon, the way our team was under the gun all night the last thing you want to do is introduce a new defender into the league in that manner, who's still wet behind the ears. would have been like putting the lad to the sword. thats only thing i think pardew got right regardless of how embarresingly shit raylor was last night.

    Alan Pardew

pardew to learn from that? how fucking long has he been in management??? he gets paid thousands a week and he still don't fucking know how to change a team's shape, took the prick 81 minutes to realise we were being over run. i dont know. maybe warnock's fat ass was in his way so he couldnt see, or he was watching another completely different, sort it out pards you stupid moron.

we were not better vs mackems, we only started playing after we scored. before that they could have easily had more than a hatful. vs fulham we were marginally better overall, first half fulham outplayed us clearly.

    Alan Pardew

for all those that would like to excuse pardew, lets look at this logically. a simple evaluation our team got stretched , the midfield four got completely over ran by QPR's midfield of five. Now usually you would want atleast one of your forwards to come deep and help out, but pardew decides to keep two big strikers upfront, they are not exactly the type that likes to come deep to help out the midfield. Best and Shola are spearheading type of strikers they both play far foward and doesnt like to come deep and mix in with midfield play. Simple sollution was to stick another man in midfield sub one striker. Why didnt pardew make the change??? becuase he was too vain and didnt want to look weak like he got outsmarted by Warnock's tactics???

Southampton haven't looked back since they sacked him. We're not exactly doing bad with him ourselves. Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Fulham, Sunderland, QPR, Birmingham, Blackpool, WBA....one defeat. im not even talking about points we got, what about how we played? you do know we only got a point because QPR can't finnish for toffees, any other striker that played tonight would have smashed us.

pardew speaks... "We didn't play well tonight," he told nufcTV. "We lost the central midfield area, which is unusual for us, but we just had two in there and they had three. jesus christ??? why didnt you do anything about it then you stupid f***ing moron! ------------------ "Defensively though we were good. Our full-backs and central pair were brilliant tonight. They had to do a lot of work tonight - too much work - but they still did it very well

good post, totally agree. Pardew showed that he can do ok when he took over from chris, the team played some decent stuff, only for us to realise it was more to do with the team he inherited rather his own input. I saw some harrowing comments on the southampton boards a while ago, with fans saying he was just a long ball merchant, I thought they were just bitter fans , but it really rings true now.

it aint even so much about how shit shola and taylor are, its more about the lack of any simple change that should have been and easily made yet pardew refused to or simply watching a different game. we played qpr! im not saying we thought we were entitled to beat them and get 3 points, but we fucking do expect to atleast play remote competitively and adaquate enough vs them. had we played well and got a draw, no fucking problems but its the fact we were utter garbage and to rub salt in the wounds our manager did not do fuck all about it to even remotely change the team around.
  24. littlelunchbox

    Alan Pardew

He picked the wrong team, he was part of the problem. Ryan Taylor and Shola shouldn't have come out for the 2nd half as they were both as bad as they can get. Part of the problem - yes. He got things wrong today obviously. But I do wonder how much control people think managers have over individual players' performances. It isn't Football Manager or FIFA out there. he has full control of who he starts in the team, he picks the team, he choose 4 vs a 5 man midfield tonight got overan outplayed and did fuck all about it .

people stop talking about "atleast we got a point" that single point is no consolation for that shocking shower of shit we dished out. its an indictment of the thread bare team spirit and the lack of motivation we have left in the side. a big warning for the future results we will be seeing very soon.
