I really wish I still cared. I feel nothing but apathy
This exactly!
-
I wish people wouldn't laugh at this.
This.
50,000 people are p*ssed off and 8 have the balls to stand up be counted.
Agreed

Couldn't give a s***.
This!

The thing is, we didn't really turn. Not massively. I've heard the FCB chant sung louder and longer than that. And how Pardew gets away without a single chant against him is beyond me. It's to our credit and our detriment at the same time.
There was a fair few of our lot singing sacked in the morning where I was.
If only it were true...

We've basically signed the Dutch Cisse in terms of this seasons game time. Was never going to go well today. Should've sorted the transfer out by Jan 2nd and he might've built up some form, confidence and sharpness for today's game.
Why would you expect us to sign someone so early in the window...that would suggest we have a plan.
-
Maybe we should take a clue from Ashley and not care either. Don't turn up for matches, don't watch them on the TV, don't listen on the radio, don't buy any merchandise, don't go on forums and discuss them, don't talk about the club to other clueless Americans who only support Man U or Arsenal and maybe then there will be change...But I doubt it.
-
The really sad part about today's match is that we should have been able to play losse and free flowing football. We are not in a relegation scrap, the result matters but all the pressure should have been on the scum. They needed the points more than we did. But yet we contrived to look like a total shambles. That to me lads is down to coaching.

I don't even have any emotions anymore, that's scary! Hopeless!
-
I didn't even feel that devastated either. Just utterly numb.
Same. Never felt as apathetic in my years supporting the club.
My feelings exactly. It's sad really.

I'm fed up with being served up this s*** like but what do I do, it's not like I can support another team.
Guess it's time to consider dropping Football altogether until the rot has gone from the club.
My thoughts exactly. What a sorry state of affairs.

Think the fans have been nice and sedated so far this season, what with being comfortable in 8th and having the odd good result etc.
However, I think things will turn very sour should we lose on Saturday. The fans loved Yohan and with the extremely poor summer transfer window still fresh in the memory. The failures in this one should be enough to get fans voicing their angry once more.
I'd love to think we could force some kind of change, starting with Kinnear being removed from the club as a gesture of goodwill. But unfortunately I fear apathy is far to rife within our fan base now and we are stuck.

What a sad, sad, time to support the Toon.

This has all the makings of we "couldn't get it over the line" transfer.

One apostrophe away from making a coherent sentence.

Yet some on here would have you believe he's not made a penny off us.
Serious question - so far do you think he's made money out of owning the club? And if so how?
He's getting millions of pounds' worth of worldwide exposure for his main interest (which coincidentally has increased in value by over 700% in the last five years) via probably the world's most popular sporting event, for free.
Just that.

I had such high hopes for you. I am much disappoint. Please tell me you're not a Packers/Lions fan.
No. Steelers fan. And Penguins for hockey.

Won't change my name. i have a lot of fun being a yankee fan livinng in Twinky territory.

Forget the Twins. Join the dark side and support the Yankees.

I agree with this 100%. I mentioned the same thing in the game thread. If we don't get an owner who is willing to spend, the only hope we have is the EPL implementing a salary cap like all the other major sports in the U.S. The salary cap would in theory level the playing field for all clubs to be able to compete. Until either of those two things happen, not much to look forward to.It's sole depressing with this c*** in charge we will never be in a position to win anything. No interest in he cups and no interest in spending money (even though he is a billionaire) to try and challenge in the league. His choice as manager also demonstrates the whole attitude of where he sees the club. We are only a flag ship for his company which to no surprise has saw share prices rocket on the back of this football club. It's really hard to get excited going to the match now as you know there is no chance whatsoever that this club is wanting to win things and that is criminal with the attendances we get. Out only hope is he will sell up but it will be a lot more than the 100 million he quoted when we went down. Rumours were that he either quoted the Man City owners a stupid price when they were first looking to invest in a club and didn't turn up to another arranged meeting. He is making a lot of money of the back of this club with the free advertising . Depressing times as I just don't see anything for a few years to come but to be moving between 8th and just above the relegation slots - that's the long term picture we have to look forward to.
There is no suggestion a salary cap would help us though. We'd not only need to get the right players in we would need a decent coaching setup. If you support the US teams that your username suggests then you'll know that doesn't always happen.
I support other teams than my name would suggest. But a salary cap would help in my estimation. If not a salary cap, how about a cap on the transfer fees that a team can pay in any given transfer window. That would help. It is just so sad that you can basically predict the top 4 teams every year in the EPL.

LOL. I think we all realize that unless there is a change in ownership, we are going nowhere fast. Very disheartening.

Miserable maybe but is it not true?
-
I would be more upset with this result had this present season had some meaning. So what if we get a draw. 1 pt. Still in 8th and seriously no hope of moving any further. No real prospects of signing anyone of quality, no real hope of any proper investment in the future, so why get upset. Only two things will help us in the forseeable future: 1) New ownership that is willing to spend serious money on players; or 2) The EPL implementing a salary cap like all major sports in the US, to put all clubs on a more equal footing. Until such time, why get upset over one match in Jan. when you support a middle table and going nowhere else club.
-
It is so depressing to think about the rest of this season. Come to think of it, not just this season, but all the future ones as long as we have a cowardly manager and an owner that has no ambition.

Says a lot when most of us are happy with the loss. What a mess this club is in.
