  1. Ole needs to drop the viruses in the team to survive

    De Gea
    Dalot Varane/Lindelof Maguire Shaw
    McTominay Mata Van De Beek
    Fernandes
    Ronaldo Cavani

    An excellent, united team.

Pitiful from Man U, they played like we do against City. A couple of months ago I thought 4 teams could possibly win the league this year. I was wrong, it's only 3. Man U are a million miles away from being the best team in their own city, let alone the country.

Tbf, that's a bit unfair, it's like saying Sunderland are miles away from being the richest club in the region, let alone the country, when NUFC are the richest in the country.

Similarly, City are the best team in the country over the last 4 years.

  3. I'd be surprised if the owners don't let Howe bring his own people in. Not like the backroom staff at the club have done anything worth keeping. Hell, I'd tell Howe to recommend anyone he wants.

  4. I think United fans are being too harsh on Ole, booing the poor guy. Think of his mental health. Guy loves the club and is doing his best. The players are not good enough. It's not like Jose or Van Gaal did better. Fergie too 10 years or so to start winning too. I say that United should keep Ole.

They’re shocking today like, massive gap between them and city

This btw is almost exactly almost every Arsenal under Tets game against City. Still some of our fans back him

  6. Imagine being a  player though. For two years, you've been told to stand around, take days off in training, get behind the ball, run around a bit

Then someone comes in who expects you to actually train. Expect you to actually press. Who probably monitors how much you've run in a game and will rinse you for not running.

And then after all that, imagine you want to throw a strop and then realise the club can easily replace you because they're loaded now. Will be hilarious to watch some get their comeuppance

  7. Very impressed at the way the manager search was handled tbh. They're new owners with probably little knowledge of how to operate in European Football. The names that were seriously associated from the start have been a certain mould of manager. I mean, let's look at the list of rumoured managers.

    Fonseca

    Emery

    Howe

    Lampard

    Rodgers

    Benitez

All five attempt to play a pleasing on the eye sort of football with varying degrees of pressing and a propensity for keeping the ball, if possible. Benitez is a bit of an outlier there, but even his LFC teams played pleasing football, even if he obviously had to be a lot more circumspect with a Championship squad in the Premier League. This is a huge break from the club's usual type of mangers in a way too. They're all different, in that Lampard was naive to a fault with his style of play, while Howe, Rodgers, Benitez and even Emery tend to be more circumspect. It's still a specific way of playing. They then obviously went down their list from most likely to least likely, and finally got the sort of manager they wanted.

I find it very impressive because if you look at our neighbouring Spurs, they wanted someone fun to replace Jose and got in Nuno, while interviewing 20 candidates all trying to play different types of  football, before sacking him and getting Conte. Conte, who for all his credentials, is basically a more in touch Jose, say, a Jose of 2010-12ish period. Definitely not what the fans wanted when Jose was being sacked. Or look at us when we went with Arteta with zero experience which would probably be the equivalent of hiring Colback as manager because he played for you.

Or look at United with their muddled supposed manager targets if Ole goes, or indeed them hiring Van Gaal, then Jose then Ole, with zero regards to the style of play. It seems, even without a DOF, the Saudis want a fun style of football. That can only be a good thing

When you read some of the comments on other sites about this it makes you realise we are now universally hated.

    Fuck them.

Not universally. Arsenal fans, by and large, like Newcastle tbh. Even our forums are more.... ooh, this'll be fun rather than ooh fuck NUFC.

Our club's board probably hates you, but then they hate everyone

All on board with Howe now, sounds like the Anti-Bruce, could be just what we need.

Hope he's good, but I would not trust a word the Athletic ever put out. Cunts made us believe Tets was the second coming of God, and still treat him like he's God

  10. I think the best part is 2.5 years. Being realistic, best hope for 21/22 with any manager is avoiding relegation

    22/23 is stabilising to midtable

    Probably 23/24 is upper midtable.

    Then he leaves.

Alternatively, NUFC can't stay up and 22/23 is returning back to PL for which Howe is a good option and 23/24 is stabilising.

Club have shown that they're ready to get a big name if available and people much better than Emery will be willing to join then.

Not a NUFC fan though, so an outsider-ish view

Bedwetter. There's a few on here at the moment, I'm going to call you all out.

Tf is someone a bedwetter for supporting someone while thinking they're underwhelming?

'Being called a tactically inept Weetabix really hurt me,' Eddie Howe 2023

Eddie Howe loves to eat weetabix with with salt on it and no milk apparently. Very fucking weird.

Only right way to eat Weetabix is by dipping it in Caviar

  14. Am I the only one who doubts he'll be here 2.5 years? Still, should easily keep you guys up, replacing Bruce is probably the equivalent of eating anything not rubbish after eating from a trash can for 2 years.

  15. I don't think it particularly matters whether Howe or whoever is appointed can win leagues or get into top 4. He won't be around to do it if he's not good enough, because unlike Ashley, I somehow doubt this new regime will start off by giving an 8 year contract to Howe or whoever is appointed. As long as they can keep your club up and aren't too disastrous, they'll probably be sacked down the line for a better option like City and Chelsea and PSG do it.
