  1. £40m is just embarrassing lads.
  2. We loved Pearson and he was no footballing purist. It’s a relatively new thing for us, when we brought Puel in the club decided he and then the next person would follow a certain MO. ie. Good and working with and bringing through young players and also playing it around a bit more. We’ll stick to that for a while yet, it’s served us alright so far. I just want to be entertained (and win a few games) and that comes in many forms.
  3. Cheers, will pop in now and again. Be interesting to see what happens for you, hopefully put the cat amongst the pigeons with the “big six” ass hats.
  4. Nightmare for Iheanacho and Daka really. Both can bang them in, yet Vardy is still a machine at 36, and we don’t really suit two up top.
  5. Rodgers is infuriating. You can’t argue with final positions and cup wins etc. But good god he has some glaring weaknesses. I think a better manager could have got more from the team, but without great luck of finding one, could you actually attract that next tier manager? Doubtful. I’m not sure I’d shed any tears, the football is as dull as dishwater, he’s inherently negative and can’t set the team up to defend set pieces to save his life. Oh and he refuses to be wrong or take the blame for anything! Someone mentioned Rafa, not sure about that. The club set their stall out some time ago to be a possession based team, and I presume they would stick to that. So hard for a club like us, you are always limited and will have ups and downs. Where as the big clubs can just cast aside half a dozen £40/£50m players without batting an eyelid and just buy more, a couple of duff signings can set you back a few years here. Our project is measured in decades and not a few years, the next step is to grow the size of the club to be with the next rung of clubs size wise. Your Villa, Everton, Leeds etc. Hence the ground capacity increase to 40,000+.
  6. Hot and cold, he gets a rough ride off the fans but personally I put it down to how Rodgers uses him. He’s not a winger, yet we ask him to play like one. He can’t play deep and with his back to goal when he’s so weak. As soon as you get him up the pitch, around the box and actually offer a link up, he comes alive and can make things happen.
  7. Not sure it’s even that sticky really, about the same as we always have done. We sell an asset and reinvest. I think the biggest issue is that we did so well under Rodgers, they wanted to back him and keep the team together, rather than say cash in on Tielemans a year ago. Now he’ll end up going on a free in a year, and it mucks up the sell to reinvest that we’ve done so well. So now you might have to lose another asset to balance things. So long as we stick to the principles that got us where we are, I’m sure there will be a dip and then we’ll come back again. There is more noise about things at the minute, because Rodgers went on about a rebuild. Which IMO was more about saving his skin after getting battered in the cup, than actually us needing a rebuild.
  8. Did you not read the part about injuries? That’s been going on for two seasons + now. This will be the strongest the squad has been for a very long time. Also, that presumes everyone’s signings work. I’m sure as you know, they don’t. My view doesn’t change, anything in the top 10 can happen depending on injuries etc.
  9. It’s the same squad that finished 5th twice, won the FA Cup and finished 8th last season despite a ludicrous injury list all season. In fact at the moment it’s the first time we’ll have been able to put out best 11 out for about 2.5 years. Let’s not go over the top…. As for least glamorous club. Yeah the glamour clubs like Brentford, Saints, Bournemouth, Palace, Wolves, Brighton and Fulham really outdo us and have players queuing up to wear their shirts ha. As for us being f******, we’ve invested £100m+ in a training ground, are looking to do the same on a ground redevelopment. On top of backing Rodgers and the inevitable covid impact. The owners have continually backed the club and have showed zero signs of stopping that. We are just paying way too much in terms of wages to revenue. The new FFP is limited to 90% of revenue, the 80 next year and 70% the year after. We have European aspirations, and to play there we are going to have to reign it in… which then obviously makes it harder to compete. But that’s exactly what hat the super league wazzocks want isn’t it. Guaranteed spots every year.
