Who is worse? Smith or Ameobi?

They are both equally s****. If I must choose I favour Shola though since at least he has some manners

it`s neck and neck, 80 people have voted so far and it`s  about 50/50 as to who is the worst of the 2 :D

Both are piss poor, effort and determination without ability can only take you so far. The flip side of the coin, is that Viduka has more ability than both of them put together, but zero effort! Although easier said than done, we could do with shipping out all of our striking options and starting again.

Ameobi being given chance after chance in the first team is precisely why NUFC have been a mediocre side for years. We persevered with Bramble for years, got rid of him and still he makes mistakes week after week. Ameobi doesn't have what it takes. Can't even get out of slow motion mode.

Ask yourself this question - Would any of the top five or six clubs in the Premiership even consider Ameobi on a free transfer. No chance - not anywhere near good enough.

Seeing as they're both strikers, i'd say Shola was better than Smith, given that he understands that as a forward, it's your job to atleast have a shot or two. Maybe even notch a goal here and there. Smith is shite and offers nothing; Shola's a decent enough finisher.

Ameobi hasn't been playing much this season, but he did score five in 13 last season (three in the premiership), last one 15-10-2006, a week or so after Alan Smith's latest goal against Rome (his only goal that season). Smith picks up many times as many yellow cards, though.

if ameobi was playing as often as smith, he would win this easily. an "out of sight, out of mind" kind of thing is helping his case.

That might actually be 100% correct :)

Shola set Duff through yesterday which is more than Smith has done in... evahh. If Smith stayed up front he'd prove to be better than Ameobi imo. But seems to eager to come back and play superman flying into challenges.

Unformtunately, Smith has lost his way a little positioning sense wise as a striker, i put that down to him being lumped in midfield for the key part of his career. Id haveto go for Smith though, he has a precedent of being a good striker who can score a decent amount of goals, ability wise id say he was better than Ameobi as well.

Ameobi is an ok striker at best, has had 8 years of decent football to figure out what he's doing and hasnt quite ever got it right.

Shola may be a pothead, but he offers the same as smith only without the yellow cards and the crying. More of a target man too.

smith's all round game is better but shola is, incredibly, more of a goal threat and will do more to worry defenders.

When you spend £6 million on a striker who's less of a goal threat than Shola Ameobi you know you've been had.
