Paul Merson arrested for drink driving yesterday.

Apparently he crashed his car into a lampbeans.

Can't wait for them to start taking the piss on GSS, should he remain on it.

Irrelevant but slightly amusing news of the day: a Catalan newspaper has found documental proof that Messi and Bojan are distant cousins (their great-grandfathers were brothers).

Such a small world

Watching Man United Vs Liverpool in the FA Cup 98/99 on ESPN Classic. Commentators are saying that it's daft that goal line technology hasn't been brought in yet. 13 years later and it still hasn't happened. Insane.

"Newcastle the 13th most supported side in the world."

Liverpool might think they have a big enough worldwide fanbase to secure their own TV rights, but the findings of a leading sports market research company suggest they're not even in the top five most supported clubs around the globe.

Research by Germany company SPORT+MARKT has revealed an estimation of how many supporters each club has around the world. A sample of 1,000 people from 34 countries has revealed the top 13 football teams with the most fans.

Village Idiot

According to them we have like 100 million more fans than Real Madrid? Probably  bollocks but this goes straight to my Facebook profile to rile up my Real Madrid friends.

Love how they fitted us in at a random 13th place.

Aye stretched it from a regular top 10 to a top 13 just so we squeezed in, fucking magedia.

Man City having £18 million fans already, Jesus wept.

No doubt these cunts bought their shirts the moment they won the FA Cup last year. Vile.

Still can't get over the fact we apparently have 270m "fans", I remember a study in the early 2000s saying we had around 40-45m

Heck, when I first moved out of Spain in the mid-2000s some people mistook me for a Crystal Palace fan

It's fucking pathetic quite frankly.

We have some great foreign NUFC fans on here and they get my utmost respect because they stick with the club with exactly the same commitment (emotionally and financially) that many locals do, but it just saddens me that these are in the minority. Seriously what do these endless amounts of wankers get from picking up a Man U, Barca, Chelsea or even Man fucking City shirt and deciding they 'support' them.

Christ. If you are going to support an English/European team instead of your local football sides then atleast think outside of the fucking box. Have something about you and pick a proper team for a half decent reason. Hollow wankers.

 i take it they just did some Maths trick to add on the rest of the world population to the small amount of the sample size that will have said NUFC.

BTW, I was in Kuala Lumpur the day and the day after Man United played a Malaysian XI a couple of years back. Never seen so many Man United shirts. Ridiculous.

Is there any truth in the rumour that red shirts are particularly desirable in certain countries?

So these 13 clubs share 1.3 Billion supporters. The world has 6.9 Billion inhabitants. That means pretty much 1 in 5 of every human supports one of these 13 teams.
