Major clubs want automatic CL entry

Europe's biggest clubs are working with Uefa to review the format of the continent's elite competition.

European Club Association chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has suggested the top clubs should get direct entry into the lucrative Champions League.

The process is expected to last no longer than nine months.

Yes, let's protect the income of the richest.  :serious:

It's no longer a sporting competition if that happens. Would be a travesty. Shocking that Man Utd. are behind it given their fall from grace.

What good would playoffs do if teams were guaranteed to be in the Champions League?

Aye makes absolutely no sense in this instance

That was really interesting, thanks for sharing! Ultimately it's what a lot of die hard football fans want, a strong connection between club and community. Wish we had something more than the soulless link that exists at the moment.

The College Dropout

Think it's just talk to get a better financial package for CL rights. Non-Premiership CL clubs are more dependant on the CL financially.

Bolton chairman Phil Gartside has died aged 63. RIP.

Sadly not surprised the way the debt and club was going. Feel a little sad for putting that Hex on them now.

Fuck him. He was the most corrupt guy in Football at one stage. Whilst I don't wish death on anyone, this is like you lot celebrating Thatcher for me. Bolton are fucked because of him.
