Keegan also would have loved HBA, he would have told everyone else to work hard to make up for it like Beresford and Ginola

He absolutely would have - and you could get away with it in English football in the '90s

Again, loved HBA in context, but would Ginola have rocked up in July having gained over a stone or whatever it was? Redundant comparison.

Take a 40 y/o Moussa back before this coward.

some of the crap you've spouted in the last 24hrs has made me want to kick your head in.

He was accused of exactly that at Villa when he was past his best. And probably not but he'd have still been sparking up tabs after matches.

Absolute travesty that we sold Anderson. I really hope he winds down his Forest contract and we get him on a free.

The Butcher

Remember him being our best player in pre-season and then started the first league game on the bench. Him leaving turned out to be a great decision for both him and us.

Hope he comes back in a few years.

He had to leave to develop into the player he is for Forest. Be brilliant if he came home to us after he's done from Forest...on a free :)

I'm not a big fan of 21st century football stats and I feel like I might regret asking this but what, in the strictest sense of the word, constitutes a "duel" here

would have had plenty game time last season.

especially in joelinton's absence.

possibly also for bruno in certain games.

both of them had to play either slightly injured or absolutely exhausted at times.

Miley was slowly getting himself back to full fitness and still a little green.

fuck PSR.

Except he didn’t.

In hindsight, I agree.

I do think our youth players require an absolute dire injury situation for them to get any decent game time. Probably one of the only negatives of how the team is managed.

We'll see what happens to Miley this season.

It would take a lot for Anderson to get proper consistent minutes with Joelinton fit.

He never got that break for us. A good run in the side. When injuries came he was also injured.

Agreed. But there just needs to be another avenue to get younger players minutes other than injuries.

Osula and Miley need serious game time next season, but we're not willing to loan them out.

Fuck if I know the solution.

I don’t think Howe thinks he has that luxury.

Could he afford to give Anderson 15 games ahead of Longstaff waiting for Anderson to get in gear?

I consider Hall a higher ceiling player and it needed everyone else getting injured for him to get a 5 game run. Those 5 games he never looked back after that.

He got plenty of minutes in his last season for us, and would’ve got even more if he didn’t get injured. Probably would’ve ended up around 2000 minutes which would’ve been some going for a breakout season in Prem.

Think there’s a valid argument he would’ve been pushing Joelinton to take his starting spot. Howe clearly rated him by how much he was played before and post injury.

The whole situation has demonstrated that there can be value in us (intentionally) looking to sell young players we truly rate with an attached buy back clause. It can make men out of them.

Thats my thought too re:Howe. Every game seems perilous for us. Every cup game, every prem game. Add into that CL. Can't risk any game.

I don't really know what needs to happen for some games to be suitable for blooding in players.

‘He got plenty of minutes’ = less than 12 full games and 26 appearances. Less than 40 minutes an appearance.

Harvey Elliot managed almost 3x the minutes in the same season.

Anderson never got a solid run for us.
