He will play for us again one day. I’m sure of that. Unless he’s proper peeved he was a pawn in the PSR game.

He came to Wembley to watch us win the League Cup. He'll be back.

Why not? In the relatively near future we’re going to need a LCM to fill the Joelinton role. We could do a Real Madrid job - give him a nudge in a year or two and say run down your deal. Or we could very realistically pay some heavy coin for him. Hes probably heading for the England squad on his current trajectory.

Could definitely see us being interested again in the future, it’s just whether he would fancy it. I’m sure he would.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it. Not sure he's valued that highly mind, but if Eddie puts out for him..

Honestly think Howe really liked him, it was a sale that we were absolutely forced to make. I’ve said before and I’m sure it’s the same for everyone in this forum, despite the best season in all of our lives it did sting a little watching him thrive.

If he carries on improving I’d absolutely be in favour of signing someone like that, local lad or otherwise. He’s basically perfect for Howe’s system. It’s a huge shame it was only £15m net, in hindsight of course.

I've loved watching him thrive last season, he's showcased his qualities in the role handed to him by Forest. When he was with us I felt he didn't quite deliver but you could see the potential.Personally I think Miley has a higher ceiling, and a breakthrough season awaits

Was poorly worded by me. I was buzzing for him, but also stung. I don’t think he ever really got a chance to get going here, so you are right. But given Joelinton’s fitness record of late, he’d have had plenty of the minutes we gave to Longstaff and Willock.

Probably agree on Miley too, though I see them as different midfielders. For me Miley has always seemed more suited to play the deepest of the 3, but time will tell on that one!

I honestly don't think he ever would have made it as more than a bit-part player here. It's clearly helped him moving to a club where the expectations were a bit lower and he could establish himself in the team as a key player. He always looked like he was playing within himself for us, like he didn't quite believe he belonged.

The move has worked out well for all parties.

Yeap, I don't see how he would've played much last season except off the bench.

Think he's at the perfect club/level for him. He'd be a decent squad filler for one of the other big teams or us, but for his career I hope he's seen what happened to Barkley, Rodwell, Phillips, etc and stays where he is. Unless he fancies being one of those squad fillers here.

I think we probably do undervalue some of our own players. I have seen plenty of comments in the past saying Murphy is championship level, or would do well for a newly promoted side. But if he were actually available now - I think he's a £30m player. I know it sounds mad, but everything is so data driven these days that ultimately he is involved in so many goals for a Top 5 team. And someone above pointed out that Perez went for £30m and that wasn't exactly a massive blow. If we found out tomorrow that we had sold Murphy for £25m, I wonder how many people would think that was a good deal.

Murphy is 30 though. No one is going to offer £30m for him. Would be different if he was 25.

Couldn't we swap that Greek GK for him... 🤣

He is nowhere near as good as some people on this thread seem to think , decent player but would never be good enough to play regularly for a team with our ambitions .

What’s the difference between decent player and being good for a team with our ambitions? Based on how season has progressed and his performances in Euros, he’s very much on cusp of being a strong player for a side pushing for major honours.

First full season as a regular in CM, and he’s looked every inch the part then many others in the league in same age bracket. Repeats what he’s done (Forest will drop off, but he keeps performances going with an England call up that’s highly likely now), he’s on top of the list for all clubs in England next summer.

He will be a first team regular at a mid table/ lower half club no doubt, he would be a good squad player for a team that wants to compete in the top 6.

He's good enough to compete with Joe for gametime now especially in matches where we've needed more on the ball ability. As he improves he'd be an excellent option. The only of our midfielders who were good enough to come in and offer rather than detract, although maybe not at the time so much. Being one of the big guys at Forest has brought him on immensely.  It'd be different here than a City/Chelsea.

Ambitions are one thing, reality another. Lets see how this window and next season goes before saying Anderson couldn't regularly feature. Right now he would regularly play. Hope to God we sign more midfielders from abroad, because we need better choices for the 11, and the bench is shocking for a CL team. I'd be surprised if next season it could be said Anderson wouldn't feature.
