He doesn’t work hard at all, he stand being marked, deliberately as well I think.

When we don’t have the ball he does a lot of running, when we have the ball he’s very static. Don’t think it’s laziness, just think he’s not the brightest

I might be suffering from concussion or something, but I like Chris Wood and can't quite work out why

Howe clearly appreciates what he brings to the squad. As a 3rd choice striker we could do a lot worse.

We could do a bit worse. You can't do alot worse than 2 in 17 and no goal threat [emoji38]

Mental we're so attached to keeping him. Sunk cost fallacy. We blew a load of money on a dud so we have to pretend he's useful.

Not the type of player that would be my first choice of style. However he is quality and if the price is true then we need to try if there’s the slightest chance of him wanting to come here.

We need goals though.

A better striker will help the rest of the team score goals by their hold up play, flick ons, lay offs etc. We already see it with Wilson.

I’m 99% sure nothing is happening now, however due to the surprise of Isak I can’t help but check this thread and Twitter every few minutes [emoji38]

I’m at least satisfied that the folks at the club have been, and almost certainly are still, trying to get stuff done — even if it doesn’t pan out. Far cry from Charnley not being able to figure out how to replace the thermal fax paper roll.

We bid for Nzogbia with 1 hour left once didn't we?

That was back when we bid for players purely for show. Got the Carroll money in and knew they had to at least make it look like they tried. Just went with the player they knew wasn't for sale and, in the unlikely event of the bid actually being accepted, wasn't interested in coming anyway.

I know they're generally canny, but you can't take the Sky lads (Keith and Pete) seriously today. Everything they put out today is designed to drive you to Sky Sports News, which curiously seems far more ad heavy today for some reason.....

The Brian Ruiz one was a low point. Loads of talk of Ashley's transfercopter being on standby but absolutely fuck all happened.

Yeah it’s just typical deadline day shenanigans so far, vague stuff to string the fans along until midnight tonight. If there’s anything of substance happening we should hear about it within an hour or two, if not I’d say that’s that.

I'm going to put my neck on the line and say no more transfers. Journos know this but they're not going to tell you, obvs.

I can think of one particular reporter who would bite his own dick off to be able to say just that.
