We sold Anderson for 15m really. Minteh had a good season in Eredivisie. Elanga had a really good season in PL. Agree on Jaouen.

He has, but that repayment has been to an Everton side on a very different trajectory to the one we intend to embark on. 

 

He's kept them in the league, we're trying to reach the Champions League and more. Those are different assignments (even though I agree with a lot of your premise).

It's not so much I think he's been bad, it's that I haven't seen nearly a big enough sample size from him to justify a £15m gain in value. 

 

He started the season first choice but lost his position to Donnarumma. He then played almost exclusively in the cups. Those runs included games against Exeter, Salford, Southampton, Huddersfield, Swansea, and Brentford. They may argue he won two finals in that time—against Chelsea and Arsenal—but I think there's a fair discussion to be had about how Trafford would handle a full Premier League season and the idea of turning bad momentum around.

We can say he is an international player but he doesnt play there either. Some cup games here and there for City. I get that the clause is gone, but still too much.

Problem with that is once you factor in wages Maignan is probably as expensive, if not more, than Trafford.

Also Chelsea and Inter want him so unlikely to come.

 

I think we will go for a GK around 25 with top 5 league experience and around 25 -30 million. Three that could be up for consideration are from Serie A Suzuki from Parma and Caprile. Or pivot to bundesliga for Noah Atubolu.

Same applied for Man City last summer mind (obviously they've bigger ambitions) and they signed him to be their number 1 (until donarumma fell in their lap at a knock down price)
