This is how the table would look correcting for refs mistakes (apparently)

We're still 10th. Interestingly spurs are a lot lower and hammers would be all but relegated.

Surprise surprise, Spurs in the bottom half.

It is of course still subjective because there are some decisions which even with the benefit of a replay, are not-clear cut.  I wonder if this site gave us 3 points against Arsenal because of the Onyewu penalty claim? You've still got to score the penalty as well. Also fails to take into account the fact that at 1-0 down a penalty might not just earn you a point, but could change the nature of the game completely and an entirely different game could be played out.

Most notable change there is Villa, going off that they must have been pretty hard done by this season

Yeah, according to the site it includes the 3 points for the arsenal game and assumes we would have scored the penalty they think should have been given, hence us winning 1-0.

But what if Arsenal'd equalised? It's all a load of bollocks really, isn't it?

It is a bit far fetched like. You can highlight inaccuracies but you can't just give the points to a team and change the table like that. What if someone deserved a penalty 5 minutes into a 0-0 draw? Do you give them 3 points, even though they'd have 85 minutes to defend that lead? Way too many factors to consider.

It is crap really if you think about the match against Spurs when we won. If their 1st goal had been disallowed for offside then Spurs probably would have still pushed forward and may have got the goal a lot later in the 1st half which may have meant they went in at half time 1 up. With their heads high and us down the may have gone on to win comfortably. That league table whoever done it has far too much time on their hands!

Same with our home game against Villa. When we were 2-1 up, Carew scored a perfectly legitimate goal that was ruled out. If it was 2-2, we deinfately would not have scored the 3rd we eventually did in the 90th or so minute, since we only did so because Villa went all out for an equialiser and pushed players forward, which they wouldnt have done if it was 2-2.

NEWCASTLE vs ASTON VILLA - Carew goal disallowed

Wednesday 31st January 2007

Panel Decision

Aston Villa had a valid goal disallowed by referee Howard Webb in the 58th minute at Newcastle when John Carew netted a header from a corner.

The Right Result was a 3-2 victory to Newcastle (rather than 3-1).

Except the corner should have been a goal kick. Load of bollocks tbh. That's the whole table btw.

Seen this before, didn't really pay much attention to it as its so flawed...

With the score level, David Bentley saved a shot off the line, kicking the ball up and onto his own arm. Referee Dowd should have given a penalty, but was perhaps disturbed by the shocking injury to Andre Ooijer which immediately followed this incident.

The Right Result was a 3-1 away win to Blackburn Rovers.

We crumbled 3-0, but if we would have taken the lead we would have gone onto lose 3-1? We've won every single game we've taken the lead in this season...Never mind back to the future, anyone who knows anything about football can see this is flawed to the core, there's no thought as to how these incidents would have affected the game. Would be so much better if there was more than 5 seconds thought put into each game and they had tried to have worked out what would have happened. (EG: City 1-0 Blackburn, Newcastle 2-3 Villa). Not to mention some of the descions they claim are wrong, were clearly right (Tried to claim Johnson didn't dive when we played Everton  :idiot2:).

This is completely wrong. Anyone with a basic knowledge of football knows that a goal changes a match. If Spurs early goal against us had been disallowed, what makes them think we'd have still went up the pitch and took the lead with Huntington? If Milner's goal against West Ham was disallowed, We still wouldn't have come back in the 2nd half or West Ham could have walked away with it 4-0. A load of shit
