  1. Even if you think Dummett's was a pen, the new rule is that it's not also a red card. No. Not automatically a red card. Red is still entitled to send him off. You need to read the rules So do you.... Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offending player is cautioned unless: The offence is holding, pulling or pushing or The offending player does not attempt to play the ball or there is no possibility for the player making the challenge to play the ball or The offence is one which is punishable by a red card wherever it occurs on the field of play (e.g. serious foul play, violent conduct etc.) In all the above circumstances the player is sent off. That's last year's rule, it doesn't include the double punishment exclusion. Nope that's this years laws (I'm a ref myself) That was an accidental foul by dummett. If you don't believe that then you need your life checking out tbh. Nobody disagrees with that! You said the ref didn't know the laws, where actually he got it wrong. You said it's a red, which it's not. It's like arguing with a woman. No, I've not once said it's a red. I said the ref had a choice, in response to you saying he didn't know the laws. Fine, fair enough. Well the other officials should tell him in that radio system they have. This standard of officiating is abysmal. Wasn't even a foul for me just to be clear on my thoughts ?

It's no longer an automatic red card but still can be.

You need to read the rules I have, and they've been posted and quoted many times in this very thread. If the challenge is deemed deliberate he can send him off.

  9. Both penalties and red cards were correctly given imo. Dum dum and Shelvey are thick as pig shit unfortunately. WUM. What could dummett do there?? Run to the side of him...? How could he predict HL would plant his feet? He was running to the side of him!

  11. How many times? Stopping a goal scoring chance is no longer an automatic red card, it's now up to the ref. Double jeapordy was scrapped before the season started.
