Watch them play. Nobody remembers Didier at the front post?
-
Hopeless? No. But he was poor last season. Worse than Simpson. Agree with point two. Nah he was as bad as anyone at the start and probably the worst for a large period. Your last point is true.
-
Cisse/Bent = would make little different if we did a swap. Both have the same weaknesses
-
Jonas does all his defending then.
-
Krul. None of the above are crap either. Don't think I need to dig up those Cisse posts with his lack of aerial defending ability. Watch Man Utd. defend a corner. RVP heads out at least 40% of corners, at the near post. Drogba did the same. Carroll was excellent at it. Cisse? Hopeless. It's going into the heart of our defence.

Krul. None of the above are crap either. His perfomances. At 21 or 22, I wouldn't say he was a crap footballer. Obviously, he looked better the season before.

Santon's out of position a ton. He JOGS back, when he needs to sprint back.
-
He was alright in the first month or so. Crap for the rest of it.
-
Oh and Cisse was terrible last season and it was mostly his own fault.
-
Davide Santon was the worst first team performer last season. Coloccini was poor most of the season too. Being slow and weak in the air is such a disadvantage to us. Mentally he's miles ahead of anyone else at the back and most of the league - when he's on form. When he's poor, he's a shambles.
-
Same is true somewhat of Alonso. Except he's truly devastating when he's not being harassed for 90 minutes.
-
Tiote has our highest pass completion rate and you see how the folks of NO thnk of his passing ability.
-
The last great one. Interesting he won very little in his career. That type (which Cisse is one but inferior) is a little obsolete in modern footy
-
But Baines is able to run down the wide side of the RCB and shoot across goal or cross with great pace with his left. Santon can't do that.
-
He looked great in that RWB/RM position against Wigan. Roberto Carlos knew how to play as a LB - Santon doesn't. IMO he has just as much chance as transitioning well to a midfielder/attacker role ala Bale as he does being bad at it ala Carlos.
-
We have a decent record against Spurs too in recent years.
-
Paul Scholes was a dirty footballer. Not "Oh Paul Scholes can't tackle yaknow hahaha" but genuinely a cunt of a player
-
This.

Lawro's funny. But I don't think it's intentional.. sometimes I wonder if he even likes footy.
-
looks good, seems he can pass a ball as well (well could against us for Swansea) so stumped as to why he wouldn't fit in to AVBs plans as mentioned. Cardiff as well, such a huge step down for him, unless he's got some welsh slapper up the duff I can't see the appeal of going there, surely bigger clubs would have been in for him had they heard about it. Proper stealth move by Cardiff, kudos to them. £9m init. Nobody's going to match that. I rate him highly and would have him here in the starting line-up but at 9m? Nah.

Tiote-Cabaye-Marv in a midfield 3 is the way forward. Got a bit of everything that.
-
Caulker is 21. So was Bramble at one point tbf. But if Dawson can turn into a handy CB, so can Caulker. I rate him, Caulker.
-
Nicky Butt and Scott Parker in a 4-4-2 was a recipe for disaster.
-
Can't agree with that if anything we have more pace than technique, the only real technical players who start week in week out when fit are Cabaye and Ben Arfa. In fact there's probably more technique in the back 4 than there is in the rest of the team combined What we lack to me is width, creativity and goalscoring threats.... the other thing would be a dominating presence in the back 4 but i think you can get around that. We don't lack aerial presence? Steven Taylor's the only player in our side I think's decent in the air. Small side we are.
