On the stick to football podcast this week. Out tomorrow
-
Probably signed him to stop us getting him free and there for able to spend £70m on a winger cunts
-
I very much agree it will a failure of a window if we don’t get both. However if PSR rules weren’t a thing we’d get both no problem. In other words it’s not like they aren’t trying
-
Also bringing in £20m, although they may not need it it does mean they don’t have to worry about giving palace an extra £5m-£10m like we do
-
Who for? Fair enough just a name I’ve never came across. Probably coz he played in Germany
-
I’ve genuinely never heard of him
-
Ahhh mind we started this window was such hopes and promise
-
Not sure he’d be gloating. I don’t think they want to keep him (see already trying to buy a replacement) they are just trying to get as much money as possible. Reckon if the end up keeping him with no £70m with his 2 years on his contract ticking down they’ll arguably be just as disappointed as we’ll be
-
Exactly. It’s an easy lazy link added to fact he was left out the Liverpool squad because he’s exploring his options. 2+2=?
-
They are coming from that was the supposed PSR dodging deal that was apparently lined up before we saw Anderson & Minteh. Liverpool wanted Gordon and offered Gomez in the other direction.
-
Really is and we only need two players to turn it in to a brilliant window. Frustrating
-
I get the point but it’s so random coming to that conclusion solely based on us not going for Gruda who btw hasn’t even been credibly linked to a move here. Who’s to say we aren’t currently locked in discussions with Chelsea about Madueke for example? I didn’t read the article but Douglas appears to be going off figures from Kevin Maguire he’ll know better than me and you but even he won’t have a full idea of what we’ve to spend
-
Wait because we didn’t go for a random player out of 100s of players you put that down to us not having any money. I’d say it’s more likely the scouts, Howe & Mitchell either didn’t want him or have better targets than it is to do with finances
-
He was never an option. It was a load of bollocks made up by someone to trick that will itk account. We probably didn’t even look at him
-
1. going by what mark douglas has said today if we spend £65-£70m on Guehi we have about £20m to £30m left which tbh im surprised at 2. we’ve been linked with Torres yesterday and Madueke just the other day. The Guehi stuff is only public because palace leaked it. If they hadn’t you’d be saying the same thing about CH that you just said about RW. No news or rumours doesn’t mean there’s nothing going on 3. deals always go late in the window. Seems this window is particularly slow and I think we’ll see a load of deals across the league in the final week. i predict up to 6 players will leave. Targett on loan, Fraser and one of Trippier or Almiron (hopefully Almiron) the fact the club were talking to Charlotte means they are willing to let him go. Also either Dubravka will be sold or the Greek guy will be loaned out. We won’t have 5 keepers in the squad. Hayden & Lewis will be loaned out also
-
this isn’t Mitchell’s first time tbf he’ll have a strategy. Theres nothing to suggest we aren’t already talking to other clubs about other centre halves virtually having a deal agreed if and when we do walk away
-
Who knows city’s case against the PL around sponsorship result could come out next week. Announce a major stadium/training ground sponsor on the Thursday then two big signings on the Friday. I can but hope
-
They changed it a few years ago to it closing as the season starts iirc and it didn’t work for some reason and changed it back. or I’ve made that up but I’m sure it happened
-
As it stands? Or for previous year? I think they’ll sell enough players to balance it out. They’ve enough of them to sell and a lot of them are actually pretty decent which makes the constant replacing them even weirder
