  1. have you looked at the otherside and KK might be thinking fuck me I have to get this sorted for the sake of the club and show what a cunt Ashley has been and what he was trying to do with the club. Or maybe he just doesn't love the club.
  2. This is my concern as well. While I agree that Ashley led Keegan down the garden path and is a massive cunt, if keegan wins it's us who will suffer. Fuck the soccer circus, let it sink or swim on it's own merits, we don't want to end up subsidising it at the expense of our team. A pleasure to read such a rational post.

  4. Lord knows, but a while back newspaper reports about Soccer Circus suggested that he was relatively hard up having sunk the greater part of his personal wealth (a couple of million) into the business. EDIT: Actually, that's a bit misleading. I know he lent the business a couple of million to keep it going but that would be on top of whatever he put into it in the first place. Dunno how much that was. He'll be "worth" whatever he might get back from that business, plus whatever else he owns (bound to be a bit of real estate here and there, maybe some investments in other businesses -- he's always fancied himself as an "entrepreneur") plus, of course, whatever he walks away with after this tribunal. My guess is that ten million would be quite the payday for him.
  5. What kind of sandwich is it on the billboard?
  6. The real joke is, for a footballer record, it's not that bad.

  8. The biggest vote so far is for 8+. Good to see there's still a bit of optimism in the air. (I voted for 5.)
  9. I think that was the excuse he originally gave. Later he was reported to have said something about not wanting to go near us because of the general fan turmoil and dummy-spitting. In the end, only someone with no hope of any other employment was prepared to take the job, which I don't think can simply be blamed on Ashley and Wise. Generally, it's odd that people don't want to acknowledge that the mood and actions of fans can have bad effects as well as good ones.
  10. With their name being dragged through the mud all over the press that'll be why West Ham did so poorly last season and couldn't get taken over then. I must have missed the bit where West Ham fans collectively spat out the dummy and started a boycoutt over their infallible god-like hero Curbishley. You really hate Keegan don't you? No, he really hates Newcastle supporters, as going by that it's US to blame for the difference between what happened at NUFC & what happened at WHUFC. BTW how has this supposed "boycoutt" affected the club Ozzie? The boycoutt which saw us have the highest ever attendance for a team relegated in the UK & the 6th highest average attendance in England this season. The turmoil definitely affected our chances of getting a decent interim replacement after KK legged it. It may also have affected the sale, but who can really say whether any buyers were put off by the prospect of a fractious, difficult-to-satisfy fan base? I'm sure it makes us look a less attractive prospect, though. How could it make us more likely to find a buyer? [b[No, the fact Ashley was only offering a 1 month contract affected the managerial appointment. [/b[On the second point, see my edited post above. Venables said otherwise.

  14. Let's hope it does all get sorted out today.
  15. I reckon the supposed walk-out clause has a lot to do with it. KK comes here because he needs the money, does his best, but it becomes apparent he's not going to get loads of money to buy Thierry Henry etc and that the club long ago pissed away the chance to compete for the CL places. Times have changed and so has he. He's not having any fun, so he decides to walk. But oh dear, there's a walk-out clause that makes him liable for a couple of million if he bottles it, and he's already in some degree of financial shit due to Soccer Circus eating up all his cash. So he tosses in his own counter-claim and goes for the big bucks.
  16. Yep. He loves the club, of course, that goes without saying. Just loves it. Has he ever said this btw? You mean he doesn't love the club? Sacrilege! You clearly rate yourself as intelligent and knowledgable, and are worth reading more often than not in Chat. So why do you continuously post such mind-numbingly boring bollocks in this thread? It's that kind of thread. Raise above it then. There's been some really good debate at times in this thread (although the last page or four have been pretty grim). Sorry, but I reserve the right to take the piss. Taking the piss is usually at least vaguely amusing. Not if you're the subject.

  20. Yep. He loves the club, of course, that goes without saying. Just loves it. If he does walk out of these proceedings with £8-10 million, that would make the day Ashley called him with a job offer the luckiest day of his life.
  21. Gawd, the Kevin Keegan Klan are in lynching mode today.
  22. Well, KK's camp have been doing the exact same thing.
  23. Ashley won\t pay it. The club will pay it. One way or another it will mean less money to buy players once Ashley has gone.
  24. That's fair enough but on the flip side if Keegan doesn't get everything he's looking for, or if the panel finds in favour of Ashley then those on the other side of the fence will also have to get off their "high horse" and accept that Keegan shares some of the blame in this case. Let's see what happens. Unless further evidence comes to light, a legal verdict on who should get compensation one way or the other isn't going to change my view on matters one bit, and I wouldn't expect any Keegan haters to change their minds either. Obviously people who are entrenched in their views or those with an agenda won't give a damn either way, but there are plenty who will be prepared to accept a fair verdict on this issue. It'll be hard unless the proceedings are made public, though.
  25. The club was happy to continue to pay Robson, honouring his contract, until he got a new job elsewhere. That wasn't enough for him though, he wanted to be able to get another job (possibly for a rival) and carry on leeching supporter's money off us as well as getting paid for managing another club. So he dragged the club through an expensive court case. It was futile in end for him anyway, as noone wanted him after the out of control dressing room he left at SJP which even the best manager in the world would have found difficult to turn around, and ultimately led to our relegation last season. Ok first of all he didn't get a new job until after his contract with Newcastle would have ended despite being offered jobs in that time. Secondly if someone with a contract is sacked he has to be paid in full for the remaining time of that contract. Getting another job has absolutely no baring on that what so ever. Was he? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Garden_leave So just to clarify this, you are criticising Sir Bobby for claiming for his full contract of a year to be paid after he was sacked yet you're defending Keegan for claiming for the longer terms of his contract to be paid after he walked out? He's also saying that Sir Bobby is the reason we were relegated, but UV never does make much sense.
