  1. Great post I think it will help a lot of people with their thoughts and decisions Question for you Greg, "I'll judge Newcastle United on what Newcastle United does." and "We support the football club not the owners" Can you see a set of circumstances where it would be impossible to separate the owners from the football club and you would have to stop supporting the football club because of the owners?

That cartoon has actually made me feel sad for the future of the club. It was only ever the excessive spending that I criticised Chelsea and City for not the source of the money. If people are going to link our past and future with the history (and future?) of a country then whats the point?
  3. Or do something like Boca
  4. The pitch is currently at most 3 metres from the front row, where are you going to fit in these extra thousands?
  5. So something I don't think i've seen discussed (whilst being VERY contentious) is stadium naming rights. Its probably the easiest way to get a lot of money in the club whilst staying the right side of FFP But what do people deem acceptable? Not under any circumstances, yes if its enough to buy the 25 goal a season striker we need, doesnt matter its always going to be SJP...
  6. TBF he still does have the final say once the deal is ratified by the Premier League (i think thats what Ryder is trying to say)
  7. If Rafa cant be released form his contract can we not buy his club?
  8. We're not going to be the richest club in the world ffs. Just because PIF have massive resources doesn't mean they are in the coffers of Newcastle United. Aye, they have a ton of money, but in this new world everyone knows it's all about how much toilet roll and hand sanitiser you have. I don't think they have that much. Still better than a world where all the money is in wallpaper
  9. Id be surprised if Staveley didnt do the right thing and sort out the people who sacked Ashley off
  10. Only here because he's a Geordie but gets too much criticism because he's a Geordie
  11. Probably thought they were going to go out of business during lockdown and bought them on the cheap Serving up bat soup in his giant mugs
  12. Nice to have a player in our first team that I wouldnt be looking to replace
  13. Matty Longstaff Paid 'peanuts', no performance bonuses, no new contract etc etc Not every premier league player is earning massive money (albeit most are) I believe Matty earns little enough to qualify for the govt's £2500 cap. But he hasnt been furloughed and is being pressurised to hand over part of his salary
  14. Ginola was never the same for us after that game
  15. Matty Longstaff Paid 'peanuts', no performance bonuses, no new contract etc etc Not every premier league player is earning massive money (albeit most are)
  16. Disgusting on behalf of the bookies imo Promote responsible gambling and constantly send emails about it then invent an event for people to bet on. And thats before we open the can of worms of them using this as a loss leader for new customers who are bored at home
  17. Debenhams about to file for administration. Could be a nice time for him to free up some cash and buy something hes wanted for a while
  18. Has lockdown really pushed people to the point where they are debating whether that comment was serious?
  19. Brucey has us within 6 points of them, way closer than Rafa ever did
  20. Pep will be looking for a project soon
  21. out of interest, anyone know how many people you can get on a single Zoom call #digitalcans
  22. Its a tricky one and also tricky for club accounts and valuations. Players contracts are running down and valuations decreasing without any income. Will be very interesting to see how clubs deal with the situation on paper, what the transfer windows will look like and whether the PFA do anything to add time to player contracts
  23. Hopefully they screen Fantasy Football each night too
