  2. I am a huge Given fan, so I would like to ask you if you know how's his recovery going?

Also do you think he will walk straight into the starting XI when he's fit?

The last I heard was a couple of weeks, and i'm sure when he's fully fit he'll be in the starting lineup again...

  3. At the moment, our situation reminds me a lot of the Souness period. The spirit we had under Roeder during the spring season is completely gone, we can't score on even the biggest chances and our defense is a complete joke. Not that many year ago, we had ambitions of playing in the Champions League every season, now we are more than satisfied with a top 10 place. It's like FF doesn't give a flying **** anymore and Roeder just can't see his own mistakes. As long as FF is the chairman, I don't see a way out of this.

  4. I think the uefa will not move the game forward, because eintracht frankfurt has a contract with the TV for thursday and if the game will be on wednesday eintracht frankfurt would be lost very much money.

I hope they won't, i've already ordered my plane ticket and hotelroom...

  5. The game is not sold out, several hundred tickets has been released the last few days and more to come, I've got 20 tickets for the danish NUFC fan club, the only bad thing is that we've allready ordered our plane tickets, so if those stupid UEFA people move the game to wednesday i'm gonna kill them

No way in hell you can imagine how much shit i have got from my friends through all these years that i have supported NUFC.

Agree, couldn't have said it better myself, my dad is a Spurs fan, my brother is a Chelsea fan, my best friend is a Man Utd fan and I could mention many other friends or relatives, not a single Newcastle fans. And i've been listening to their shit in 12 years now. And as Ikon said, it's true, I do know more about my club than they do, they read the headlines "Carrick signed" "RvN sold" and that's it, they don't know any details, they don't even watch the games if possible, unless it's champions league games which is shown on danish tv. I keep telling myself that one day, one fine sunny day in may we will win something! And I will believe in that till the day I die.

  7. First of all, good post, i have had many discussions with Newcastle fans thinking that Newcastle fans from other countries are just gloryhunters. I've been following Newcastle since 1994 the first season in the Premiership, and i've never even once considered cheering another team.

n the start it was mainly from playing championship manager, but then I started watching english football each saturday, unfortunately danish tv lost the rights in the mid 90es, so now i have to go to the local pub, but a good game and a couple of pints ain't that bad either :)

I was in Newcastle for the first time in april, and it was awsome, the city, the game (Shearer's last home game vs Wigan, 2 goals) was amazing and people were very friendly to us and I will definitely come back this season.

I think that I speak for most scandinavian toon fans when I say that we're not gloryhunters, we might not be born in Newcastle or in Geordieland or even England, but we still cheer the team each week every season.
