  1. I think the huge explosion of the fanbase in the Keegan era is slowly coming to an end- witness the recent poor cup gates. I think the coming seasons will continue with reduced attendances until prices are lowered or the team begins to compete again.

ps- Shouldnt this be in the Football Forum?

The fanbase has always been there, it didn't explode during the Keegan era and it is still there today. What happened during the Keegan time is that the club started to try to be successful, so more people from that fanbase were prepared to spend their money and go to the match.

    Quoted for truth

  2. Most Geordies are VERY intrested in football and i think you met one of few who are not..

Most definately not. I only know three people as interested in football as me and two are Man U fans (Not from Newcastle, so have excuse). Basically everyone else I know hasn't the faintest (perhaps a basic knowledge of the premiership) or plain dislikes football.

Maybe it's the sorts I'm hanging around with...:S

    Blatantly hanging around with benders

  3. I'm a scotland fan, and i think ferguson is hugely overrated.  He's meant to be one of scotland's most talented players, but he's often one of the worst on the pitch!

I thought I had it bad supporting England and Newcastle!  bluebigeek.gif   tongue.gif

Aye, Scottish Toon fans have it hard don't they.

Big chance he's ginger as well ;)

Surely no one can be that unlucky

  4. I honestly dont think Beattie would be a bad shout!

Remind me what he's done since he went to Everton bluebigeek.gif

The only ferguson we'll end up with is Barry, on loan, got a sneaky feeling. Just down the road from where he is now and another crack at the PL with a bigger team blueyes.gif

well he clearly has done nothing since he went to everton but i dont think he will cost much, he has nothing to lose there will be no pressure on him and at the end of the day it wont matter when he ends up being 3rd choice!

Beattie would still command big wages though, Loan deal maybe, yes

True, again a good shout although even with owen fit we still need another striker so id rather a permanent deal. I dont want ameobi anywhere near the first team!

Have to agree on your last point, ameobi FFS, 6' 11" and you couldn't get a chronicle under his feet when he jumps tongue.gif

  7. Must admit that Parker doesn't really float my boat and the statistics with him not playing are worrying to say the least therefore Butt on his current from should play ahead of him everytime imo. Emre playing with Butt looks a different player as well.

If we got a good offer for either emre or parker i would take it tbh.

  8. It doesn't matter what anyone says or does we can't hide the fact that Bellamy was our best player at the time and that scottish wanker let him go for a pittance because he couldn't get on with him, therefore putting himself before the club and the fans - end of
