  1. LCL's capture of Kosovare Asllani is a case in point, though Michele Kang, their owner, has more experience of the international game. I guess we'll have less press releases that say 'Becky Langley has worked with x before'. As for the DOF, it is part of the new league rules to have one but the point stands. They have a lot of space to make changes.
  2. Potts was injured for a long time. She's posted about being nearly back / much fitter. It's mad that Jas (an under 21) is almost the only one left from the 'before times'.
  3. That leaves: Shania Hayles Freya Gregory Emily Murphy Beth Lumsden Jasmine McQuade Poppy Prichard (?) Isabella Sibley Elysia Boddy Emma Kelly Demi Stokes Charlotte Wardlaw Deanna Cooper Lois Joel Charlotte Potts Lia Cataldo Jess Spark Claudia Moan Hannah Hawkins and a few of the under 21, who were in and around (unless any of the above have left and I've missed it) As people have said, brutal ... but, I guess, expected. I'd assume a fairly extensive rebuild, as a few positions are fairly sparse (e.g. left wing and central midfield). Only, really, Amber surprises me.
  4. The league are implementing big changes. All the teams have to be fully professional and employ a, for woman's football at this level, fairly extensive staff (with set positions - e.g. team doctor, Director of Football etc.) It's linked to the Championship becoming WSL2 (as an attempt to bring a more professional structure to woman's football ... separate from the men's club (if attached to one) / the men's governing body). Blackburn have claimed they don't have the money to do it. Members of Blackburn's woman's team, supported by many others in the woman's game and our own players, have publicly called 'bullshit' on it.
  5. Says in here that Amy Andrew's has announced she's leaving. Missed that but not surprised. Also talks about her being better on the wing than upfront, which I've also said. That makes three leavers that are known and the retain list is due out any time.
  6. London City showed how it's done, to be fair. They have an owner who is 100% committed to them being in the WSL (and has the experiece with Olympique Lyonnais of knowing what it takes to be at the top). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michele_Kang?useskin=vector#Olympique_Lyonnais
  7. For those, if any, who fancy cosplaying a, left-behind, footballer watching different world cup matches on there 7 screens (or not) -
  8. She looked better, today, as a pacy winger than as a striker.
  9. The passing for the second goal was great. Lumsden's third was a corker. Missed Hayle's first. Against lesser opposition but it's good to see them score more freely.
  10. I'd agree. Well on top but the defending on the two goals, and in general, had been poor. Both their wingers are getting in / past our defenders with ease. Defenders thinking they have much more time than they do, being passed / run past too easily, poor positioning. Also, we really need to buy someone who can play in the box / take a long shot that isn't a weak one into the keeper's hands.
  11. Looks like Hayles for Gregory.
