  2. Despite anyone's beliefs about the manager, the insights, from 25 minutes in (or so), on the behind doors stuff is interesting.
  3. Ha. Just looked on Bluemoon. They spent most of the time bemoaning their team (and laughing at both goalkeepers - not in the way people who don't watch women's football laugh at the goalkeepers). One thing that stuck out, unlike Manchester United, they made no comments on the quality of the home support. Considering their average home attendance for league games last year was 7,108 and we had over 3,000 there today, they come across as the worse half of Manchester. Living in Manchester (and having taught girls who are members of both teams), that's a turn up for the books.
  4. Miedema on ... heh. At least Hasegawa scored. I prefer it was her over Shaw as she's a genuinely clever player, who makes the game seem so easy (and doesn't look like she's in a perpetual huff).
  5. Stokes has looked slow / passed the ball to them several times / missed tackles but, I suppose, you can't grumble about 1-1. The crowd looks good, I didn't / don't expect us to win but we have given them a game, which is more than they have done in WSL2.
  6. Femke Liefting seems to have grabbed that spot. She's seemed ok so far, saving a, noticably shaky, defense several times. The problem is she's only on loan, so may be a short-term solution. That said, she only joined Chelsea in January 2025, and we all know they sign people on a % chance they'll be successful / can be resold ... so who knows?
  7. Fucking hell. Nearly snatched that in the last second. Otherwise, could have played for an eternity and not scored (despite scoring two).
  8. Who would think, playing with no striker would lead to no goals, when playing with a striker leads to no goals.
  9. With the same problems with different players, the focus is not really on the players - e.g. numerous strikers (who have been successful before and after) have looked like duds in this setup.
  10. ... oh, and add ceaslessy underhitting / overhitting a pass to Birmingham
  11. Same old, same old - getting passes around / stepped around with ease: no shots / shots on target. Hohum.
  12. Interesting to see the change in goal. As said, it will be one of the toughest tests of the season. That said, Birmingham dropped points too. There may be quite a lot of that this season. https://www.wslfootball.com/standings/wsl2
  13. injured ... as is the Newcastle way
