They paid 5 million euros in 2008 form FC Twente and you're now paying 2,8 million. I don't think he's got what it takes to be a PL regular and at 27 he's not going to develop into one.

Pardew didn't mention a name on Talksport did he, just said a loan player had made an impression? After the signing of Lubomir Satka I assumed it was him and not Curtis. Hope you're right and he's ready for some first team action this season already. Certainly a position where we've been lacking a young up and coming player after Kadar fell off the radar.. Something like that, Defoe has a similar maximum as well. I would bank on Wellbeck and Carroll too, they can both finish. And to a certain extent Young (when he remembers how to play again). Welbeck has never hit double figures in PL and Carroll, nah. I don't trust them in front of goal. I am hopeful but not expectant. I'm talking about genuine class here. Like Van Persie and Huntelaar class finishing you mean..?
